I have heard "as many as 90, probably 50, no less than 30, and maybe just 70" furloughed.

But I will believe it when I see it.

This Thursday a realignment notice goes out.

"The realignment notice will bring the staffing to a level required to fly the reduced schedule we received from US Airways through the Fall and Winter months."

Greeeeeaaaaaat...

I mean really, why can't they just come out and say what they are thinking? It's sucks that we have to hold our breath and see how it will turn out. Also, has the union and company thought of reducing every line down to mins? What about buddy bidding? There has to be a way to save jobs.

Spoke to one of the CP's this morning and part of the problem is that Airways can't seem to make up their mind exactly how much flying they want us to do. The number has changed 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks.

As far as reducing the lines is concerned, I think they actually save money by furloughing guys and not having to pay medical benefits, 401k, etc and flying the cr@p out of the rest of us, than they would by reducing to guarantee and paying all the extras.

On a brighter note, this could be a lot worse than any of us imagine....
