There's been talk of about 175 pilots from higher up. Higher ups in Crew planning gave that number and told us to expect to hear of furloughs by mid July. So far everything I was told was dead on. Outside of pilots the rest will be FAs and a couple of crew schedulers. This "management" talk you see in BBs letter will amount to nothing.
177 pilots, FA's (not sure on numbers due to turnover rate anyway), and some of the newly hired dispatchers. The rest will most likely be admin people.
I thought the 16 170s being replaced by DAL 175s were broken down to 10 UAL + 6 USAir? The 135s are being accelerated, but the CRJs are only down 9 this year, 10 in 2009 and the remainder in 2010.
As of right now there are 203 planes flying in the system (that does not include the F9 170s), so with the 9+17 50 seaters lost, and a net of 16, I believe RAH is losing a total of 10 airframes in 08, leaving them with 193. At 10 pilots a plane, that is almost exactly 200 pilots.

I may be wrong but we have 17 135's I believe they are all with Delta. The memo I read shows them coming off line at the end of September. There were a total of 17 frames going to RW/F9. There was nothing said about halting new arrival 175's. In the end I believe the net gain was to be only 5 at S5. So it sounds to me like. 17 erj's, 6 crjs and 12 170's for a net loss of 35 this year. That's pretty close to 300 piltos. But I honestly don't know. I certainly hope for everyones sake that I am wrong and lord knows I could be.

Two in October, four in November, two in December... CRP to close at the end of October
What's the story with the CRJ crews? A good friend of mine was hired in May 07 (CRJ/HOU). He left ASA after a year and he's seriously regretting it. That is he'd be making a lot more money at ASA and he'd be holding a great line, even if/after they "F."
I'm going to call him today and see what he knows.

The CRJ crews are still on the same seniority list so they'll be repositioned to other aircraft.
We expect to furlough approximately 200 pilots, depending on attrition.
4. How many captains will be downgraded to first officers?
Approximately 100.
5. How many flight attendants will be furloughed?
We currently do not have plans to furlough any flight attendants. Based on current attrition rates, we expect our flight attendant staffing to right size itself by year end.
7. Are there any base closings?
Yes. Both CVG and CRP are being closed as crew bases. CVG will also be closed as a maintenance base.
Where'd you hear CVG and CRP are closing? If it is true, I wouldnt be surprised considering CVG is our 135 base and CRP is a CRJ base...but still I hope it's not the case.
