No one at AT has been terminated. Everyone just freaked at the language used in the WARN letter (permanent = longer than 6 months)

The company has threatened to fire the probie's (like me) if the union doesn't release them from the training dept provision.

Everyone says that but then after a little time off realizes how much they miss it. You aren't going anywhere either

Yes, no one has been terminated (at airTran) and I hope none of you are, but I'd have no problem with releasing the company from the training department provision in order to help probie's keep their #’s. Just doesn’t give up your SWEEEEEEEEET reserve language. It's the BEST IN THE NATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm serious) If they do want the language changed them make them pay for it and make them pay big!

I was 1 person off. I guess I'll count that person as credible.

I'd like to know how the hell they plan to staff the S5 side if they plan to lose 76 S5 FOs in exactly 6 weeks.

To expand...for August at the minimum they anticipate 182 lines for CA/FO. There are currently 250 S5 FOs, which would leave 174 remaining after 76 furloughs.

They will be replaced by crew members being downgraded or other FO's getting bumped out of base. The arbitrator ruled in favor of the union regarding the MCO displacement so the company will have to rework the DEN guys (they were stapled on to the grievance as far as I understand) and play by the rules for the furlough (which so far, the company has). There's going to be a lot of crew members moving around inside the company in the upcoming months.

The only bright spot I can see to this whole downgrade/furlough situation is this arbitration came out at exactly the right time and very much in favor of the pilot group. It does very little for the guys getting the axe; I wish you guys the best and hope to see you back real soon. However, for the guys that made the cut, this is a huge win.
