Who is this guy? If this is a true management or training department suite than this company is very very sad. You're telling me you let these 20+ pilots go because the company was anticipating the newly purchased commutair mesa 200's and hired a bunch more than needed? I hope this is false. If not this place seems like an absolute joke.

PiedmontCLT might get the award for both funniest, and corniest posts on this board. Total flamebait, and you guys are swallowing it hook, line and sinker.

Seriously, read the tone and naivety in the his posts. NO ONE at PDT communicates like this. Hell, JB doesn't even try to put that "leave it to beaver" spin on things anymore. He's a new hire if he works here at all...

Are you frigging serious? So basically youre saying "We hired too many, well just ruin your career to make up for it"...I think you just made my point. Thanks.

Haha, he almost had me but after that last post PDTCharlotte has got to be someone here just being a smartass Or else the training department needs a PR rep to help this poor lad out. It would be career/company suicide to say some of the things hes said...we wont go the extra mile to help out the young and weak...we take pride in weeding them out....we over hired in expectation of the 200's.......No way would someone from management come onto this board and admit that theyre management and make those comments...Now that you got a good rise and laugh out of us, tell us who you really are. New guy? Veteran? Recently fired?

Let's not try and figure out who I am. Management or not I needed to finally vent over the posts i have been reading on this forum for a while. Lets direct our energy to the future and outlook of Piedmont and our wonderful pilot group.

Wow you edited your post quick. Makes my original comment a lot less relevant.

This aircraft didn't overtorque you numbskull. The props oversped.

Beta lockout system not installed, beta warning horn inop due to unserviceable radio altimeter. High descent rate from 13,000 feet at 24nm from the field caused Vmo overspeed horn to sound. Pilot probably tried the old "place power levers aft of flight idle" trick in order to use beta to keep descent rate high without increasing airspeed. Props overspeed, power turbines are trashed, Nh, Nl and ITT are probably normal, but you've essentially got a loss of thrust from both propellers.

There isn't any amount of "proper checks" which can prevent the "over-torquing" that you suggest happened to the aircraft in NG. "Bringing the issue up to MX" would also be futile in preventing the erroneous movement of the power levers by the pilot on this flight, whether they were purposeful or accidental. This would clearly be an issue for the flight operations, safety and pilot training departments to address.

Now what I'd like to know, and to prove to me that you've got any sort of idea about what you are talking about is this:

All of the PDT aircraft have the beta lockout system installed. Occasionally, an engine may start with an ECU in manual and the prop will be in the prohibited range once the condition lever is moved out of start/feather. This requires a reset of the beta lockout circuit breaker. Specifically, what is the location of this circuit breaker?

Oh, please thats an easy one, If you were an FO within the last four years you'd be very familiar with that because, in the past, you had to reset it on every originator.

We used to have to reset it on the originators... it's clearly labeled so I don't think this is a trick question even for a new hire, anyone who has originated an airplane should see it.
