I love how senior pilots tell the junior ones how good they have it and that they should quit if they don't like reserve. Most of them never sat a day of reserve in their lives and some weren't ever f/o's.

I was a reserve F/O for a while and reserve is no fun at any airline. Now I'm a reserve Captain and it still sucks. Some people just want to live in La La land and keep cozying up to the bar to sip on the Koolaid. People coming here have a right to know what they are getting into. If some guys want to wear PDT Pajamas to bed and have a picture of SF on their nightstand then what can you do. They don't want to listen to reality. They just want to live in denial. We have problems at this airline and we have a very real concern with the potential merger. Pretending none of that exists won't make any of it go away. And lying to potential new hires painting some kind of "all is really well here" picture makes them no better than mgt.

Just curious why your still here? Your always full of doom and gloom. Every time someone asks a question about working for PDT you declare why they shouldn't work here.....yet your still here. If it's really that bad you should look at going somewhere else. Even if it would be a lateral move you should go. Were doomed anyways according to you so you might as well get a head start on everyone else here and jump ship. Or start driving truck

Yep, it's always the answer to tell someone....quit.

Well there isn't a lot of jobs to choose from. Some people would rather do the right thing and work, pay their mortgage, bills etc.... rather than be a drain on society.
Doesn't change the fact that the airline has issues. Being vocal about it might be her way of dealing with it. I suggest you find your outlet.

Maybe I'd like to see the airline that's I've invested nearly a decade of my life towards turn around. So you're advice is to go somewhere else and take a 30k paycut to go to the bottom of a seniority list at another regional? Your attitude and those like you is exactly why we have the problems we have. Instead of standing up for what is right and unifying as a pilot group to use every tool at our disposal to pressure mgt into making positive changes, give us a contract we deserve and a good quality of life your answer is "why don't you go somewhere else." If the whole industry worked the way you seem to want it to go we'd all be handcuffed to the yoke and sent bread and water once a day. The reason you have a contract even half as good as you do is because generations of pilots before you stood together, and stood up to mgt. You have an obligation towards future generations of pilots and new hires to fight the good fight.

So why don't you go somewhere else. What we do not need now is pilots at this airline that are unwilling to stand together. If you want to lay down and die and smile everytime scheduling, mgt, or training sticks it to you then why pay union dues? I've invested a lot of time here and I make no apologies for the resentments I harbor.

Your such a hypocrite! You talk about wanting your airline to survive, you talk about the future generations of pilots. How are we going to have future generations of pilots here and this airline surviving if we can't man the aircraft because your out there telling everyone not to work here!

You get upset when I tell you to go somewhere else and you talk about how I'm not standing strong with the pilot group and that if the whole industry said "go somewhere else" that we'd be cuffed to yokes. But please enlighten me what the difference is between you telling pilots that want to work here to go somewhere else and me telling you to go somewhere else?

I've been here 5 years, I'm well aware of the situations at hand. I'm not a pro company pilot by any means, trust me. I want to see this airline make it. I want a good contract. I'm not out there picking days up on days off or doing company favors. I follow the contract, and i stand strong among the pilot group.
I'm just sick of listening to your doom and gloom. I lead by example, so if I were to get on here and tell everyone not to come to PDT and go somewhere else, well then I would go somewhere else

You just don't get it genius...the thinner our ranks get the more leverage we have. If the company get's desperate for warm bodies to put in the right seat and we can roadblock them from getting more by keeping the applicants waved off then they have to start talking to us on our terms. This tactic has only been practiced in this industry for, let's see here, ah yes..forever! But nooooooooooooooooo you want to make it all about happy warm fuzzies. It's not about doom and gloom, it's about the cold hard truth. What do you want to talk about when it comes to PDT huh? How great a place this is to work, how wonderful the condition of our fleet is in, our fantastic management team, caring schedulers and industry leading contract?

What is your point in being here? Why post on this issue at all? All you seem to want to do is berate me vs. having an actual discussion or anything of value to add. Why? Is there some just completely wonderful aspect to life at PDT that you want to talk about?

Your position makes no sense. It seems to be one of egotism vs. any solid position on anything. If you don't like what I have to say then familiarize yourself with the ignore user function. I'm not going to sit here and tell applicants they are making the best decision in their career by coming here when that is as far from the truth as it gets...But that's probably it isn't..You came here, and now you are faced with the realization that you screwed up. Your little house of cards is crumbling and you want to lash out at me for it.

If you have nothing to add other then to attack me then go put on your big boy pants because if you want a fight I'll give you one all day long. This whole attitude you have toward me is completely absurd. Turn all that angst toward mgt where it will be useful. You claim to stand with your fellow pilots yet all you do is spout the opposite and pick fights. And you talk of hypocrisy. What a wet noodle some of you guys are..Yep, we are going to get the contract we deserve alright......

You seriously need to wake up and smell what you are shoveling.

This is EXACTLY what mgt. wants us doing. Infighting and bickering at each other, generating internal pilot group resentments to keep us divided, weak and you are playing right.......in......... to it! Congrats! Well done lad..Give old Stevie boy a call..I'm certain he'll send you an autographed picture of himself for your nightstand too. Seriously..what the hell have I ever done to you huh? You aren't mad at me..you're just mad..And you are taking it out on me....And that's just a hair over pathetic.

Sounds like someone is just upset about being a 10 year pilot at a regional...I remember a while ago you talked about being an FO...why did you wait so long to upgrade? Don't give me that QOL stuff either. If it is so bad you would have taken first available and gotten your time and gotten out.
