You are truly an inspiration. Definatly an authority on this stuff. A guy who is what, maybe 26 tops? Doesn't have a kid yet? Some of the TSA FO's are pushing 40, have kids and no retirement to speak of. Some of those same guys were in the military for years before making the jump to college and then on to the airlines.........please be careful whom you target with your sarcasm.
no..he should not be careful. you should be careful with whom your stabbing in the back. we are all going to be out of a job (not to mention those who lost their jobs when gj was created) because of people like...well...YOU! i think i speak on behalf of most waterskiers here when i say we dont care what excuse you have, there isn't one good enough for going there! if you were in the military, in this economy, you shoulda stayed. if your pushing 40 with kids and no retirement, why would u go to gj anyway. its the same management. dont believe me, go to the stc building and look at one of the gj memo's on the wall and see the president's name that signed it. same clown as here at tsa. your simply showing your lack of knowledge and care for your fellow pilots.

He
as for gojet, we've already got some idiot FO's making the jump....whining about how they need to "FEED THEIR FAMILIES", far as I'm concerned, let em go....they didn't have the heart, gutts, or balls to be a true waterskier anyway, let em burn with the rest of em....let em all burn.
Would you like to give me your job? Take one for the waterski team?? Thank your lucky stars you were fortunate with your ****ty seniority and stop passing judgment on what other pilots do with their lives.

Must not be too concerned about your family with that crappy payscale. There are plenty of jobs out there that don't involve airplanes where you can provide for your family and not be undercutting your contemporaries and only lowering your career earnings in the long run.
By the way, they're still at 15 aircraft. Enjoy sitting in the right seat.

Stabbing in the back? Then thank all my brothers who fly open time. Thanks for making sure I got furloughed.
GJ was the reason for people losing their jobs? Because that was exactly what TSH was planning? If was going to make them money right?
And you nailed it. I am one of the reasons why TSA and other pilots are being furloughed. I am the reason why I lost my own job with TSA. Not a Continental contract. Not the fuel price. Not even the loss of the AA flying. Nope, the creation of GJ and me going there. You got me.
As far as staying in the military 8 years ago, you are right. I should have stayed. I just missed the memo about what state the industry was going to be in 2008. Dam!
The reasons for going to GJ are too complicated to elaborate on here. You should not judge a book by its cover or condemn someone until you walk in their shoes. I am not twenty something with no family and the ability to move or the time to wait out the down turn.
I know a lot more about the TSA and GJ thing than you may think. I have a copy of the arbitration document in 2005 between ALPA and Teamsters. I have done my research and then some.
Here's the lowdown as i know it. We've got 5 airplanes going to mexico that are our leased birds, we have 2 other leased birds which are being returned to the leasing company when our contract on them expires. (7 planes) ontop of that, we've got another 10 aircraft going back to American Eagle starting at the beginning of the year, we might start retiring them close to years end. 824HK was sent to Hot Springs, AR for a heavy check before being returned, it's coming back to STL tomorrow, so maintenance can remove any signs of "TSA" from the aircraft (paperwork, etc) then that birdie will be flying far far away, and the second bird is supposed to leave by weeks end (as i hear it through the grape vine).
These furloughs aren't even taking into consideration the lost american airplanes, so the furloughs for the birds won't happen till later this year, maybe early next year at the latest.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I need food, too. I'm getting the big sh*t sandwich from ExpressJet, in October, as well, but rest assured; I will be saying "Would you like fries with that?" before I go to work for GoJet or Mesa."
Good luck to all of the true Waterskiers.

Your right. There are. I guess I will give up on flying and work a desk job till I retire. Cause that is were I stand right now. Or, You can work the desk job, I will take your job till I get the hours to move on. That would help keep me away from GJ. Take one for the team.
I hate to say this, but I feel I must. There are plenty of jobs out there, not flying jobs, but plenty of jobs that pay more than making 50 seat pay flying a 70 seat jet for GoJet. Drive a UPS truck, work at an FBO, sell cars. Heck, when I get my notice from Uncle Hulas , which I figure will be about OCT. if I am lucky, I am planning on working the ramp for Southwest. For those of you already there, you're right, I am not in your shoes and you know the story so I don't need to repeat it. For those who are getting furloughed and thinking about going there. DON"T DO IT. Stick with YOUR pilot group and not MANAGEMENT. Believe me, if they will screw you at TSA. they will screw you at GoJet. Besides, all of this will be moot when United goes Ch. 7 anyway.

Not that I endorse going to gojet, but is anybody else realizing we're qualified for little else than flying planes? I've got my app in doing some other things but here about august I'm gonna give up and get some dumbass cashier job or something... I have me to feed...

Rationalization at its finest folks! Disgusting. And btw, i don't pick up open time because I don't believe in it when there are furloughed pilots.
Best of luck to all furloughed and not going to GJ, and those that will be furloughed. I'm right behind ya probably in December or so. Air Traffic Control here I come. Lindbergh XXXX expect holding over FWA!
