Exactly, such a change would have to be negotiated. And I will say again that I don't see DAL agreeing to it. But maybe the desire to get the merger done could provide leverage. And DL does seem to be making some wise decisions with regard to the number of RJ's in the portfolio. Time will tell I guess.

I see what you're saying. Sorry for misreading the question.

I don't think that problem applies to DAL pilots only. But yeah, it would be nice for a pilot group to pull their head out and decide to keep a portion of the "regional" feed on property.

Also, an SLI with between DAL/COMAIR pilots would have been pretty funny to watch. COMAIR, just like many other "regionals" have so pretty senior people working there.

Average Comair Captain seniority = 14.2 years

Exactly, imagine trying to integrate that into a mainline list.

ugh, don't get them started. There are a number of very senior CA that believe they should get DOH at Delta.

RE: Delta Connection Opportunity Modifies Plan

Our flight schedule for the remainder of the year continues to shift dramatically. Most recently,
Delta Connection requested that we operate additional CRJ900 aircraft beginning in October. In
order to be successful, we must make the following adjustments:
- Fleet: Our maintenance team will begin receiving additional CRJ900s in September. We
will start flying up to three of these aircraft in October, and operate a total of seven by the end of November. The addition of the CRJ900s may not incrementally change our longterm
fleet outlook, and we still anticipate reducing our complement of 50-seat aircraft by
the end of year. Eight CRJ100/200 aircraft will be returned to lessors when their leases
expire, and the remaining 50-seat planes will be utilized less.

Do you mean like Skywest, Comair, Freedumb and Pinnacle all already do? Each one operates a small fleet of 10-15.

While I agree with your assertion, everyone already is operating a small subfleet of 900's. In fact, the only DCI carrier (Or NWA Airlink) NOT flying the CRJ900 (or EMB) is ASA! The largest DCI carrier, and dominant DCI in the biggest and most important hub is the only one not operationg the 900 with first class capability! Strange, huh. I guess we are just too darn expensive.

Perhaps you should look over the last 2 or 3 pages of this thread and maybe it will become clear the second read through. Comair has been told they will be operating those airplanes. 7 of them anyway.

Delta does own the aircraft F8 currently in question. They didn't own the ERJs and that was a big part of Mesa winning the injunction. When you own the planes and they sit, you don't make money.

F8 may bargin with Delta over terminating the 900s in exchange for a favorable conclusion to the ERJ situation.
