Default Always take the number

This has been argued a thousand times over whether or not to take the Bro class or hold out for the jet. If your living/domicile preferences allow or you don't mind the commute, always take the seniority number over the equipment.

Having sat at the bottom of the domicile as a CRJ FO new hire, I wish I was offered the Bro to begin with. Generally being a new hire on the Bro is a better quality of life because your base seniority will move up faster if they are running CRJ classes, the flying can be more interesting, and the crews tend to be tighter because the domiciles are smaller. I have sat in 3 out of 4 seats at SkyWest and by far the most fun I have had was flying the BRO out of DEN (before they closed the base).

This all said, avoid commuting at all costs, because commuting to reserve is probably the worst thing you can do as an airline pilot

If you interviewed unsuccessfully at SKW, they will let you try again in 6 months...

If readers take nothing else away from this thread, they should read this statement five or six times.

After a year with the company, three months as a composite lineholder and one month as a full lineholder, I'm back on reserve in ORD.

Back to min pay and sitting around the crashpad for 21 days/month. At least I'll be on second year pay.....

I disagree with this.

I just love to fly and keeping my options open. I was hired into the CRJ pool but I have plenty of time for the majors/NJ's too.

They say he has mellowed out.

But many of these so-called terminators are just guys who show no mercy for lack of preparation.

I had both Scott's and BC for my CRJ type rating. They were all 3 outstanding instructors. I thought the terminator was one of the best I have had.
