XJT has a far better contract than CAL mainline... sorry to tell you that but its true. We dont have PBS, we have one of the best vacation sections out there, and we can make 30+ 1st yr, 45+ 2nd yr. I am sorry you didnt research your decision to go to CAL. If you did you would have realized it is the bottom feeder of the majors. 30 an hour first yr, no health benefits for 6 months, and now PBS... I am sure you were one of those guys that got suckered into going to colgan and didnt realize that working 121 doesnt have to be a hardship. you have never worked under a good conract or pay scale but instead you are bashing those of us who didnt just take the first job offered and went to a better company. Enjoy the 737 type and try applying to someone with a better contract before you start telling XJT to raise the bar... or you could just go with the first person to say yes to you like you have been doing
Typical XJT attitude, better than everyone else- even better than the hand that feeds them. This coming from an airline that just months ago would hire anyone with a pulse to the tune of 80 pilots per month. Now with furloughs, and the success of branded flying, the comments continue. Oh, by the way, congrats on all your vacation.

PBS isn't that bad... by no means would it effect a career move.

Reserve??? The most junior folks get a built line that beats many of the stand up lines. And based on current staffing, Colgan doesn't believe in reserve.

(not picking a fight, just ignoring the twice daily phone calls )

CAL's PBS is, I agree with you PBS can be a great tool, but not when it is abused and parameters are not watched...........

Did it ever occur to you that the pilot group at Expressjet is slightly ****ed off that they have had a leading industry contract for quit some time, and has provided quality feed for one of the most successful legacy airlines in the past decade and we continually get sh*t on? What you call arrogance is pride, its being proud of having a strong contract, worth fighting for, yet we have no leg to stand on in the future because other regional pilot groups simply don't care enough to raise the bar. Sure Republic will fly 170's for low pay, (forcing Midwest guys on the street) it means a quick upgrade and growth, Colgan and Skywest fly large equipment for low pay as well, but hey no big deal, like DMEarc you put your few years in and your on your way to a big bad major like big bad CAL, although if you look at it closely its almost humorous hes getting furloughed, but I bet If CAL was using 737's instead of Q's for the high pax load, short haul flights he might be needed to go to work, not waiting in line for his unemployment check.

You can bash the failure of our branded all you want, I would rather have tried and failed then simply not tried at all.

Its ok though, what goes around comes around just a matter of time, first it was Comair, Air Willy, now us, CHQ or SkyWest in a few years...........cyclical.

What I also find amusing are the folks who relish in the fact that we are furloughing, discussing concessions...where do you guys think that leaves you come contract time?

43 F/O's in IAH now.
33 Lines
11 of those lines are over gurantee

So I was going off the fact that out of 43 F/O's 22 have lines that pay over 75. A build up line is a gurantee of nothing, you may stil get stuck with plenty of reserve days and standups.

Add to the fact that CA's will not be moving on anywhere when me get more FO's here in IAH that is more FO's with the addition of no more lines.

There are plenty of junior guys in IAH who have been on the 33 hour a mnth stand up life for a while.

That is all i was going off of. I love it when Crew Scheduling calls, I just watch the phone ring and laugh and then listen to their pathetic phone call and laugh some more.

It is not again your pilot group. It is the select group of pilots, you know who I am talking about) that shoot their mouth off every chance they get

I know I, I think a lot of it has to do with the immaturity at the regional level. I know at 20-23 how I acted.................it wasnt good
