Default Colgan furlough update

I just recieved this via email

Quote:
I just received word from XXXXX XXXXX.

He has given HR the authorization to begin hiring pilots for a September SAAB class.

It appears now there will be no need to furlough any pilots in November.

Please advise anyone who may be interested.
Good news for those affected by the previous furlough announcement. It is also good news that those on the streets in hard times have another option for employment with the upcoming hiring.

this is great news that we will not be furloughing and will be hiring in the near future. If you have any recommendations for pilots; please past them along to Cathyangelo@colganair.com . Our new minimums are 1000 TT and 100 Multi.
Surprisingly very low minimums considering the industry right now. PM me if any of you want any help and ill forward your resume to a few sources. Doin' the Colgan beats doin' the streets unemployed.

Interesting. Any idea where Colgan is looking for pilots base-wise? In other words how possible MHT would be these days? I know beggars can't be choosers but just curious. Thanks.

MHT is still extremely senior and a VERY long shot especially with PVD closing or already closed. Probably most of the guys at PVD will bid MHT and I know that everyone who wanted MHT in the past picked PVD as a second.

BUT.....(there is always a but) a friend of mine who posts on here was hired as an FO and got MHT within I think 1 month of being hired and then held it until captain upgrade and then lost it for 1 maybe 2 months and got it back as a captain so miracles can happen. He will be clogging up MHT until he moves on and who wouldnt? One of the other CAs there is top 5 or something in the company and has also been there forever.

A little hope is with this stagnant industry some of the senior people at these bases have been bidding the Q to get the "heavier" time as well as FMS and glass experience which are creating uncommon openings at these bases that were not there in the past unless those pilots moved on.

hmmm. management tells the pinnacle pilots to pound sand at the latest negotiations, then 2 days later colgan is ramping up to hire pilots. not sure if the 2 are related, but it sure smells funny.
