ya no kidding when a CP tells the pilot group, "if i could fire one pilot a month i would and then everyone would respect me." ya ok...way to go GV

They did when they got the types fee with the aircraft they bought in the beginning. They don't now.

I don't think its too common in the industry to type FO's anyways.

You only have to have an SIC type and that is what you will get at airlines that serve Canada and Mexico. An SIC type and 35 cents will get you a phone call.

You are correct.

But its not a full type rating, its an SIC type. Its pretty much a paper exercise and not very valuable outside the company. I've got a few myself and the FSDO didn't even charge me to process the paperwork.
