Default No flying outside of your company?

Does anyone know of any regional carrier that will allow you to flight instruct or fly for hire on your days off? I flew for American Eagle and we signed a contract saying we would not engage in any other "professional flying" outside of our flying for Eagle. I am mainly interested to hear about Sky West, ASA, Horizon, and other west coast operations. I'd appreciate responses regarding any operations; even cargo operators. Thanks for the heads up.

At Mesaba you could only flight instruct. You could not fly any 135 or 121.

Technically they probably dont. However, if you knowingly accepted schedules for the 121/135 operator that exceed monthly/yearly maximums, you would be breaking FAR's. If you don't mind losing your ticket or job once they catch you then have at it....

Default Violating company policies

Plus, if your company wanted to fire you for some ILLEGITIMATE reason, like union activity, you would be giving them a golden opportunity.

I'm not sure which airline ZV and 9E are. I did some quick research on the web and I found that 9E is a NW Airlink of some sort and ZV is Air Midwest. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

Usually most airlines forbid it. However, most chief pilots will give you a waiver if you ask. But they make it perfectly clear that your outside flying shouldn't conflict with your primary job. So you need to track your times and rest carefully. And be prepared to do the carpet dance if you tell your employer that you can't accept an extension because of outside flying.

Dash,
If you wouldn't mind, could you please email me at adipa32@yahoo.com? I saw in another thread that you are a CA with Horizon. I've got a few questions regarding Horizon if you've got the time. I don't yet have the ability to send PMs on this forum. Take care.
