Nobody called the Trans States pilots SCABS when they took TWA's flying. Nobody called AA pilots scabs when they decimated the ranks of the TWA pilots.

I gather that the definition is situational to one's own angst.

How many furloughed/unemployed people will back down from their trash talk of Mesa/GoJet/Colgan/TransStates/etc and accept a JOB? It should be interesting. Personally, I should consider myself lucky that I have 1200/300 and a full time instructing gig.

If i got furloughed today, I would not accept a job at ANY of those airlines listed. True, as a first timer, I would've jumped on these jobs at the drop of a hat and wondered why anyone else was not grasping the opportunity. Now, after 3 years at ASA, I can tell you that I have too much respect for myself, amd ny breathern, to accept such a position. Please include I am single and if i had a family and bills, the choice would be MUCH harder.

I was furloughed and was unemployed for five months while I looked for work. I never applied to Gojets. Ethics and morals don't mean anything if you throw them out with the very first bad thing that happens. I don't think you should group Mesa/Colgan/Transstates with Gojet. If you need an example... here Trans States is furloughing again, and gojet is hiring again.... and they're the same holding company..... go figure. Not Scabs in a true definition.... but definately guys who lower the bar....

I agree with JetPipeOverht and Blueskies21. I have a wife and two kids, and I will not go to GoJet. My comment is directed toward some fickle bandwagon hecklers that bash one of those airlines in some posts, then we find out later that they work there now.

The true measure of a man is how he deports himself when things are NOT going well. Until that happens, you just don't know.

Mesa is not the same as gojet, they do not belong in the same sentence (except for the A-listers).

Sorry, I didn't mean to list those airlines together as if they are all the same. Some people just bash everyone - until they are out of work.

Thanks for posting the list. I had not seen it prior to this, though I had never looked.

My Dad was a 37 year pilot at UAL. Even to the day he retired in '99, he would tell a scab FO that if it did not directly relate to the flight, not to open his/her mouth because they had nothing to discuss.

I know plenty of pilots that actually carry that list around.

You do NOT ever want to do anything to be put on it....ever.
