Their top guys are more senior than our guys. But I believe everyone else have similar relative seniorities. I wish we had the combined seniority list that ALPA has available to us. Our upgrade times are similar as well. I don't see any problem with the integration. Granted some of my old students went to PDT while I was still instructing and will bump me down now! Argh
And I'm sure they will have a fence built in to avoid training disasters.
Again obviously this is all based on fun rumors and speculations of our very real and worrisome future.

Sorry to interrupt the merger talk, just a few questions about PSA:
How long to hold a line in TYS?
Is it easy to move days off around, if you're willing to pick up other days?
Where are most overnights out of TYS?
During training, do you have weekends off?
Thanks for any answers, I'll probably have a few more questions. Hopefully you all don't mind my asking!

I wouldnt be so sure that an integration would go smooth at all. Look what happened to pncl and colgan merger. For some odd reason, an arbitrator decided that a bunch of year 2 colgan fo's should be senior to 5 year pncl fo's. There was no logic to it, just because some old crusty judge decided so. At that time, pncl had a much better contract and future, while colgan was a non union shop without a contract to speak of. My point is, we (psa) guys could get seriously screwed. And then, they start parking dashes and guess who's hitting the street? Psa guys. Im extremely hopeful that we stay separate.

I don't think we have any options as what ever happens is completely out of our control. I'm just saying, a merger could and probsbly will get very ugly for psa pilots. Yes im sure there would be equipment fences, but a dash guy is senior to an rj guy, and a dash gets parked, the rj guy hits the street and the dash guy get trained on the rj. Basically, if there is fleet reduction at PDT, psa pilots could be the ones paying the price. Just my thoughts.

All we need now is for awac to buy pdt and psa to ensure their extension of flying beyond 2015 using their current cash in hand. The merger of the 3 will cause a temporary chaos and awac will file for bankruptcy. New American will then propose LOW pilot rates in exchange for larger aircraft. Probably a 2 for 1 aircraft deal.
Sounds familiar? Only problem is, awac is privately owned. Also it would depend on whether awac's investment and profit from airways stock will remain a separate entity from bankruptcy which I believe it is. The profit there alone (that their board already pocketed) will justify them putting awac lcc under bankruptcy since they won't have much cash on hand due to their recent purchase of two regionals anyway. Also will guarantee future profit in dealings with the new American.
Boy I should've became an airline CEO!

There is a link to the CEL (combined eligibility list) for PSA and PDT on your MECs homepage under documents. The list is sorted by DOH for the combined groups. It hasn't been updated since April 12' but would give you some idea of how a straight DOH merger would playout.
As a mid seniority FO at PDT I feel like I would lose some relative seniority in a DOH merge, but in IMHO DOH is the only fair option in any merger.
