Does anyone know what kind of wing anti-ice the Q400 has? This just sounds eerily similar to Comair 3272 that crashed in Detroit while on approach in icing conditions.

From pictures of the aircraft, it looks like it has boots. The leading edges of all wing and tail surfaces are black... that's my guess.
