All,

It appears that news stations in Buffalo, NY are reporting a plane crash short of the runway at BUF. Some responders in the area are reporting it to be a Colgan Q400.

No other details at this time. Anyone have any further information?

** If you listen to LiveATC, there is a controller that states a Q400 has crashed short of the runway.

Update: it is aircraft 784 operating as Flight #3407 from EWR. About 30 passengers on the aircraft. I hope all are ok. Our prayers are with all of them.

They say there were only crew members onboard. It does not mention anything about survivors. Hopefully everyone is ok.

Yeah..there is some confusion from the media on what exactly it was! However 3407 shows a scheduled flight from EWR according to flight aware and Continental. There are believed to be pax on board according to a person at the local trauma unit, who are on standby! More info as it comes, but whatever it is, everyone on the flight is in my prayers!

I'm pretty sure that is information that shouldn't be given out this early. We are not even sure of the status of the crew. Hopefully it all turns out well.

Not sure, 3407 was a real flight showing about 2 hours late getting to BUF.

Anybody has any other info??? Is was Colgan or Piedmont??? The new's report said Usairways; but, Colgan operates Dash8 under Continental Who it was?????

This states it's a USAirways prop. I thought Colgan only flew the Qs for CAL?

Correct, they fly the Saab 340's for USAirways.
