I dunno but I hope it's true since ASA stuck me on the street

Personally I feel we should take care of our own first:

1. ASA furloughs
2. UAL Furloughs
3. Poolies
4. Hiring

.......but UAL pays the bills so I heard the pecking order goes:

1. UAL furloughs
2. ASA Furloughs
3. Poolies
4. Hiring

BTW, all UAL and ASA pilots will go to the bottom of the list but ASA pilots will keep their DOH for benefits. Just what I heard...........

I was told at sim a couple weeks ago that the class in October was gonna be a transition class, not new hire (he didn't say if it was BRO -> Jet or the other way around). Our sim instructor told us that we could get 30 new airframes and not run a single new hire class. All FWIW

I'd give the nod to UAL guys just because of all the **** they've been through, lol. I do hope they take care of ASA pilots before everyone else. I've heard we can transfer to Skywest and they can transfer to ASA if spots are open, hopefully that is true.

I doubt there will be much of anything at either company for awhile but oh well

That makes more sense. In my last PC they said they're seriously thinking about running a 10-15 pilot transition class................RJ to EMB. Now that the company has reduced the number of 09 retirees from 15 to 3 with no retirements scheduled for 2010, I’d expect them to want to solve their EMB FO short staffing issues.

There’s already a few that have their bids in and I’m sure that Mgmnt would easily get however many they need.

Just look at the facts:

1. Every reserve RJ FO can hold a sweet line on the EMB.
2. There are many West Coasters stuck in ORD & MKE.
3. An RJ FO not breaking quarantine makes roughly the same as a line holding EMB FO flying upper 80’s to low 90’s (majority of EMB FO’s credit around 90/mnth).
4. EMB FO’s, way JR to every RJ FO, are average 14 days off per month compared to 10 for RJ reserves
5. Etc.

I heard about 120. The top 20 were given a class date and it was cancelled just days before it was suppose to start.

The last new hire class was scheduled for July 7, 2008. It was to run concurrent with an upgrade class. Those in the proposed new hire class were told on Thursday, July 3, that the class was cancelled.

They strongly considered cancelling the upgrade class, also, but did not.

Actually it looks like it may be a BRO - RJ transition class for the new 700's for United. Thats what I was told anyways. I know seems weird to me to.

That is definately weird. I was one of the new hires that had their class canceled last July.

Isn't this gonna make things lean on the Bro side then? Last I talked to some buds at Skywest the brasilia fo's were flying their tails off already even after the flying reductions.

- Swimming for a year.

Edit: Also I may be switching flying jobs but the new one may have a training contract of up to 18 months, possibly less since I'm already typed on the a/c. Think skywest will run a new hire class before then? I would be in the first new hire class... I can almost take a breath! =D
