Delta treats their regionals like dirt.. not business partners. They sign agreements and then break them, as well as direct their wholy-owned regionals to hire staff only to sack them less than a year later. They produce memos on DLNET for everyone to see, congratulation people on the merger offering free positive space tickets - followed by an asterix excluding DL Connection. Travel benefits are like a popularity contest... It feels like being back in highschool.
They really are pitiful to be associated with. I have absolutely no care at all for any of our pax on the plane, except on a human level. I'd never do anything to save DL any money, and I don't feel a gram of loyalty to the company. I strictly do what my FOM and job duty requires, and nothing more.
Ya know, this is the same way Northwest treated thier folks and look at what happened to them. Delta needs to get this Northwest mentality off the Delta board before it's too late.
Putting Richard Anderson and the rest of his cronnies on the new Northwestr was a mistake. The man is a GLUTE, along with the rest of his
friends. They even treat folks that have worked with Delta for years like dirt now, and a lot of Delta loyalist are starting to leave.
Northwest part 2 .

This is exactly the reason we need to dump as many regionals as possible and get that flying back to mainline.
Before someone gets on their high horse and says those of us at DAL caused regional growth because we "were too good to fly rj's", remember, at least 1/3 of the pilots were not on property when these decisions were made. Attitudes are changing, a lot of us want to recapture that flying and correct the problems our predecessors caused.
The unprofessional attitude of this poster has no business flying DAL pax and is unacceptable. It only drives me(and hopefully others) to work harder to get that flying back.
Enjoy your new travel benefits! You're welcome for the ride, even though despise DAL.

How is it unprofessional to "follow the FOM"? The FOM wasn't designed to screw your passengers flying on our (in Pinnacle's case with the 76 seaters) airplanes.... Working as a DCI carrier is like constantly being beaten up and yet coming back for more. When Northwest was in charge, things were great for us. I want you guys to get the flying back so that there are jobs available at a higher pay, but there has got to be better ways of getting rid of the regionals, like, say, letting the contracts expire when they come due, rather than continuing to dump on the front line employees who are supposed to provide the "one level of service".
I'm assuming this is a joke?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Freedom and excellent service....in the same sentence! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Before you choke to death laughing over your ignorance let me tell you, I have worked for ASA and seen 1st hand the reports for all DCI carriers from Delta. Freedom was consistantly at the top of the page for ontime and customer satisfaction.

How can you distinguish a Delta Pilot from a room full of Pilots..... wait for it......... He'll tell you! HA!

You can substitute Delta with any other top tier major. My favorite are the UPS/Fedex guys, they make it so obvious, I bet they wear Fedex underwear too.
Not a huge fan of Mesa here...but I love that Delta gets kicked in the balls with this. Delta is relentless and will get what they want. They always do. Just like someone else said in a previous post, Delta will cut back regardless and it will probably be a wholly owned. Sucks for Mesaba and Comair.
I agree. Let's not forget that Mesa sued Delta not the other way around. Also, with the way Delta has been treating the regional's it's time they get a slap in the face. While I think Mesa was never good for this industry, Delta is almost succeeding in creating more airlines just like Mesa out of the regionals that work for them.

I guess you missed this part...

It is obviously expected that you follow the FOM, but there is much more to professionalism than following it! You did a nice spin job on interpreting his post.
Also, I guess you and On Autopilot have differing views of when NWA was in charge. Read post 32.
