dont know if its the first time it was posted but they (colgan) just posted the opening on climbto350. guess its official. minimum application times seem low (to me) given how many are walking the streets.

That is the problem with the fee for departure game. As soon as an airline becomes a halfway decent place to work you lose all of your flying to a bottom feeder.
You must work for CAL mainline, right? Why else would you call the flying yours? Regionals do now own rights on routes.

Funny how Xjt pilots feels like Colgan is taking "their" flying. The same argument can be made by Cal mainline pilots who lost a lot of
their flying to XJT. The diference is that the CAL pilots truly lost
what was once theirs, no regional, regardless of Colgan,XJT, etc
owns or is entitled to any flying

Bottom line. By 2013 CAL will probably have 60 Q400 in operations and oil will be higher once the recession ends. What is your airline going to do in order to stay profitable? Continue to kick and scream against the "bottom feeder" Colgan?

Am I missing something here? Are you actually happy that you bottom feeder airline is replacing higher payed jobs?

I am just curious where all of this ends... are pilots destined to work less and less in the future or will it turn around?

I think I know enough to make a decent judgment on this. However, it sounds like you and the others on this forum who constantly complain how crappy the life and pay is NEVER researched the industry, and or put your eggs in one basket and now regret it. Well step aside and let those of us smart enough to make a go of it in. All your doing is bringing down everybody else with your lousy attitude. Again, if you hate flying quit and stop whining about it!

Oh, BTW, I turned down Lakes twice...after the sim-ride, due to the crappy pay. So I've done your dirty work of trying to increase pay, see this is what you have to do. Refuse to work for peanuts and they'll have to pay you more. As long as you agree to work for the lousy pay you'll never get more. But I doubt you and the other whiners have the nerve to do this.

"your" meaning Colgan flying. I guess reading comprehension wasn't part of the Colgan interview. Colgan is one of the bottom tier airlines like it or not. If you manage to bring the standards up to the top tier regionals you will begin to lose flying to another low end regional. All you need to do is look at the casualties like Comair, Air Wisky, and Expressjet for evidence that I am right.

You are doing your best to reinforce my previous observation of Colgan pilots posting like paranoid rabid chihuahuas. Relax there sparky.

Absolutely, the world is full of Nay-Sayers.

As Mark Twin said, "...it seems the harder I work the luckier I get." I believe this statement is apropos for some individuals on this forum.

Boy I remember back when I had it all figured out. From now on I will turn to industry outsiders for advice on my career.

You went to the great Lakes interview a second time in hopes of them offering more money? Well if big bucks is what you wanted I hear Colgan is hiring again. Good luck champ.
