My sim partner is a former CFI guy. The class before us has about 3-4 CFIs. So they've been hired before.

Im not in the know but I would figure Compass would hire any qualified pilot with ATP mins right now that can pass the tests. I don't think there is a regional out there that is in a position to be picky. If I were management and I was thinking hiring is going to ramp up the way it is for the last round of flows I would be getting anyone I could in a pool. They must know that even if you put a lot of people in the pool there will be a good percentage who will find something else and pass. This must be especially true for CFI's who are eager to get out of teaching and may go to the first opportunity. Supply and demand is in the favor of the pilot at any regional right now, for better or worse I didn't wait around when the airlines started calling. I found it hard to enjoy teaching by the time I had ATP mins and was eager to escape.

Not sure that this belongs in the Compass feed...

If you have read this thread, you'd realize that there are qualified pilots WANTING to work for Compass. Maybe places that hire just because you answer their phone call can fall into your theory.

If you aren't "in the know" - then spend some time educating yourself with the industry before you just spray and pray.

That may be true in the future, but right now there is no shortage of qualified applicants trying to get on at CP. They can, and have been picky.

Yes.

The short answer is you must try for 2 flights, with the second flight arriving within a "reasonable amount of time" of your report time.
