Default Georgia Skies Caravan on 26R/8L in ATL

I was riding in the back of an ExpressJet 145 from EWR-ATL and I noticed we were landing on 8R instead of 8L. It looked like there was a Caravan stopped on 8L. When I was riding the bus to the parking lot, I cold see the giant X's at the end of the runway...

Does anybody know what happened to the caravan? I'm assuming it was Georgia Skies/Pacific Wings.

It seems strange, you could see a couple of trucks out there. They were there for 30 minutes that I know of.

BTW, this was all around 3pm today.

Knowing pacific wings it could be a number of things. My guess is the company pencil whipped a mx inspection (as they do regularly) and it came back to haunt them. They will just fire the pilot though no matter what happens, even if it wasn't his fault.

TheBills, how you survived that place I will never know. I'm so glad I didn't end up there before seeing what they're all about.

Yeah your better off where your at now by far. FAA if you are reading this, you need to investigate this company to the max. Im talking line checks, MX audits etc.

I am pretty sure they blew a tire and it closed the runway for three hours. I bet Atlanta loves them.

Nothing like being slowed to 160 20 miles out and having to be vectored through and around the localizer. Thanks GA Skies

Yea the rolling inspections they do really suck! I'll bet if the faa audited the payroll hrs when they do inspections it would be way less than cessna says it takes. Any takers out there with some nut sack drag. (hint hint)

Having been a Beast driver for a while (with another company), I take a bit of offense at that statement.

Some of us cut our teeth driving the Van. So sorry that a guy or gal making about two times what a regional FO makes, flying single pilot, and only having a VOR and ADF flew his aircraft near red line and slowed you down.

I currently fly a plane a good bit faster than a Van or an Arrow, but if the pilot is driving the bird hard, and making a couple bucks, then I am willing to slow down.

Heck, when I was driving the Van, I often had to slow inside the marker because I was doing 170 and the guy in front was only holding 130. For the record, I cannot count the number of times I have had to slow the mighty Saab down for an RJ, or 74, or anything else. But I figure, we are all making money and doing our best, so live and let live.

yep, there is so much important stuff you could be doing like standing in line at Popeye's...or waiting for a urinal in one of sweet smelling, looks like your grandma's, bathrooms.
