Congrats guys! Hope everyone is back on the line soon!

For the furloughed guys to consider:

Quote:
d. A furloughed pilot who defers (“declines”) recall pursuant to Section 16.D will not accrue occupational seniority for the period of time beginning with his deferral of recall and ending with his acceptance of recall, and his position on the Master Seniority List will be adjusted solely to reflect the amount of time from deferral of recall to acceptance of recall.
You lose seniority if you defer

Quote:
C. METHOD OF RECALL

1. A pilot(s) furloughed from the Company will maintain a current mailing address on file with the Vice President Flight during the furlough.

2. The Company will maintain a website where it will post current furlough/recall information, including upcoming training classes and the deferral status of all furloughed pilots. Pilots may also use the “furlough/recall” website to accept or defer recall as specified below and to maintain their contact information.

3. Furloughed pilots will be recalled in order of seniority except as provided in paragraph D.3. below.

4. Furloughed pilots who are recalled to the employ of the Company will be allowed a period of fourteen (14) days to return to the service of the Company after date of postmark of certified return-receipt-requested letter, unless they defer recall pursuant to paragraph D below.

5. When a furloughed pilot is recalled and placed on the active pilot status with the Company, such pilot will have no prior right or claim to any vacancy or vacancies that have been filled by other pilots during the period of such furlough. A pilot returning from furlough will retain sick leave in the amount accrued prior to the date of furlough.

D. DEFERRAL OF RECALL

1. A furloughed pilot may elect to defer recall by so indicating via the Company’s “furlough/recall” website. An election to defer recall or to withdraw a previous deferral of recall may be made at any time.

2. A furloughed pilot who has elected to defer recall as provided in paragraph D.1. above shall not be recalled except as provided in paragraph D.3 below.

3. If all pilots not deferring recall have been recalled and additional vacancies exist, pilots who have deferred recall will no longer be eligible to defer recall and their recall will be in inverse seniority order pursuant to paragraph C.4 above.

Whoa, fellas. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Good news is not allowed on this site. I have had too many people far smarter than me tell me recalls won't happen anywhere, anytime for a while. Now, who am I going to trust, those who've gotten a recall notice or well informed posters?

If I am interpreting the contract correctly, the most junior pilot on furlough would basically have 1 shot at either accept recall or not being eligible for any recall (14 day period to decide).

They go through all 71 furloughees asking if they want class or defer, once they get to the last dude they start over in inverse seniority (the bottom) and offer their last chance.

I wouldn't go getting ahead of yourself. There are still 50 guys on furlough and probably at least 40 that were "hired" but never started because class was canceled. I'm not saying that all 40 will make it on property because they may not have continued to fly or be current. However I know they spent a lot of money on my RJ course.

I highly doubt that they'd even look at someone with less than 1000 hours like yourself. Just be happy for the people that have their jobs back. Lets hope Eagle gets everything straighten out and that there is something positive going on next year.
