Default Flight case for ATR 42-500.

Hey guys.
I just wanted to know from any of the folks flying the ATR 42-500 as to which flight bag/case would be appropriate and would fit into the FO's side of the flight deck for easy access to material in the bag.

I'm looking for a wheeler type bag. Can people here suggest what company I should go with and what size. Of course both those things are important, as the bag would need to be durable because of wx conditions and at the same time something that would fit well in the flight deck and be a wheeler.

thanks for the help..!

Scott and Korchmar or whatever you call it are great bags but they don't roll and they cost about 400 bucks. I haven't been able to find any quality bags that roll. What I suggest is going to staples or office max and getting one of the ballistic rolling catalog cases. The one I had is like 90 bucks but you can get the Solo fake leather one for about $70 and for around 10 bucks you can get a free replacement warranty for 3 or 4 years. The quality is crap but with the warranty you can keep going back and getting new ones every six months.

Hey TrojanCMH. thanks for your help.. that looks like a real good option. but any idea, if these will fit in the side of flight deck of the 42-500?

i also found this one : http://www.crewgear.com/default.asp?...t&WCE=CGFC18WH

Seems pretty decent but of course more exp than the ones u suggested. my only concern is if the size is okay where it doesn't stick out or it becomes difficult for me to adjust my seat and all.

Korchmar makes some decent rolling bags.

www.Flybystore.com has a good selection of them.

You should take a tape measurer to work and measure how much room you have in the ATR for a case. Then just check the case sizes on the various product pages on whichever store to see if they fit.

Do the bags not just sit on the floor in the -500 series? In the older ATRs, it sits on the floor in a large indentation. Just about any bag will fit. It's not like the RJ.

i am pretty sure its the same layout on the -320 as a in -500 since the same type rating...but for whats its worth if you want i can measure it and tell you the size of the bag compartment on the FO side.
