Furloughed since November of 2008 and little to no hope of any flying job prospects, I'm beginning to wonder if some of us have been furloughed out of the industry...anyone else feeling the same??
Sure, and it sucks. . .but. . .I knew at some point in my career I'd be sent to the street once, if not twice. Thus I never put all my eggs in one basket (ie: flying airplanes.)
Diversify.
If you never make it back to a cockpit, muh - big deal.

I think it'll start getting better around spring time. Also, the way I look at it, if you are in your mid-20s or so, you still got 40 years of working left to do, so enjoy your time off Ha.

Other than wishful thinking, what makes you think things will turn around in the spring?
I find that as a furloughed pilot, it's best to have low expectations. Especially when all your potential employers think you might be recalled next month.

It's OK everybody......... does anyone know how to fly a King Air?
I am beginning to lose hope. I've been furloughed for 5 months with little hope of getting a job flying. I miss flying a ton, hopefully well see a turnaround with AE calling people back at least there's a glimmer of something positive. Good luck to everyone furloughed.
