Default "What if" for MESA's Go!Mokulele

With the recent news on MESA, the possibility of MESA going into some form of re-organization or bankruptcy is getting closer. I hope for the sake of the employees that this doesn't happen, but was wondering might happen to Go!Mokulele if this occurs. I don't see Republic stepping back in, but maybe. Also leaving it all to Hawaiian also seems unlikely, Hawaii needs 2 carriers to keep competition. Will Aloha rise from the dead? Any ideas

It's a very good possibility that Republic gave MESA the 75% share of go!Mokulele with the knowledge that go! would be going soon, making it an that MESA would need to get rid of quickly to stay solvent and Republic could then move in again.

Also, the reason this is the most probably course of action is because it's the most knee-jerk and least logical action a business man would make, so it fits in with an airline executive's strategy very well.

I am so sick an tired of everybody talking about mesa this, mesa that. YES, the UAL contracts are expiring. End of story. WHO CARES ABOUT HAWAII.??? There are five airplanes out there. Is that enough to bring people off the street if mesa goes under? Everyone on this forum is like a blood thirsty shark. Did anybody ever stop to think that much of the UAL flying will disappear and never come back? Mesa is the cheapest operator there is, United isn't cancelling it because it's too expensive. They are cancelling the flying because they can! It's the timing of the matter. The flying will be awarded to regionals who give the them money, followed by the cheapest.

If Go!Mokulele dies in Hawaii, there WILL be two carriers, which really is all that's needed. Island Air and Hawaiian. Island Air was the 3rd carrier for a long time before JO stuck his nose into the Hawaii market. Island Air fills the niche that Hawaiian cannot fill.

Maybe Mesa’s plans for BK are to shutdown operation in the mainland and just operate out of Hawaii as a very small airline.

I care. I fly those 4 little'r airplanes (C208s) out there. If people want to talk about what Mesa might do to us, let them. It beats finding out what has already happened to our company on the news and facebook.

In that case, I feel worse for you than I do myself... You fly contract for Mesa? I have never found out anything legitimate on here before it came out publicly. Rumors are worthless.
