a small part yes but when all other parts are equal then its a huge factor. MX will cost the same for gojet or TSA. admin costs will be the same for gojet or TSA. fuel costs will be the same for gojet or TSA.

I find it funny that this has become such a big topic again when they will not be anywhere for another 4 years. The real problem with the MRJ at this point is that it is not going to mainline, it is going to a regional.

And operated for who? Not even UsAir's scope allows 88 seats. Hulie is taking a big gamble. Right now his best hope is to lease them to a Major carrier.

4 years is a long time for something to change in this business, I have no idea who he plans on using them for, but all the same, I don't want to see airplanes this big being flown by a regional. Even if it is mine.

In 4 years TSA could be struggling to find people to fly their current fleet, let alone adding 50 more planes to the mix.
If there is any kind of a pilot shortage in the next 10 years, its gonna be at all the ******* a** regional's.
That would be great, lease 50 MRJ's to a major opening even more doors for people to leave... Could be very fun to watch!

The word is that TSH is in negotiations for Comair, who will ultimately get the DL MRJ flying. Congrats is due to all TSH partners!!!!

One of Comair's CPs left last fall to be a honcho at TSA. Hmmm...

So in one thread you post Compass will do the MRJ flying.........

Trans States signs LOI for up to 100 MRJs

and then in this one you post Comair will do it? Which is it?

BTW, the only pilot group that will fly MRJ's for Delta is DELTA PILOTS!!

How can you assume all other factors are equal? Do GoJet, TSA, and Compass share mx, admin, managers, corporate positions. Are their performance numbers, efficiency, and countless other factors all equal? The ONLY thing it comes down to is what pilots cost?

I just don't know how everyone thinks that if one is a few percentage points more expensive, we're all of a sudden THE factor in determining everything. If you're the least expensive pilot group but have the highest of all other costs, and inefficient and unproductive in all other levels, the airline you're at won't get more business.
