To All Employees,
I want to share with you some exciting news for all of us at Trans States Airlines. As you may have heard in our recent
town hall meetings, we have been busy looking for the best opportunity for our four aircraft currently flying for US
Airways in New York, as well as additional flying opportunities for growth. This past week we reached an agreement
with United Airlines to add six aircraft to our current fleet with them. This means that in addition to the four US Airways
aircraft, we will also retain leases on two aircraft we were originally returning to the Lessor.
These six aircraft are going to be added starting in May of this year and will fly at a minimum through September 2013.
We were able to reach an agreement that is inline with our current costs, as compared to the financial arrangements
that we had under our previous arrangement, so it made sense to reach this deal.
The first two aircraft commence service in May, one in June and the last three in late July. By August, we will have a
fleet of 22 aircraft, 17 flying for United, three flying for US Airways, and two spares to support both operations.
The positive result of reaching this agreement is a cancellation of the furloughs that were planned in March, and we
expect to recall pilots from furlough in the coming months. As you can imagine, this is quite good news that I am
pleased to be able to share with all of you.
This flying was awarded to Trans States Airlines because we were able to provide a competitive cost as well as the fact
we have seen significant improvement to our operational performance over the past year. I want to thank all of you for
playing a key role every day in our performance, clearly it was a tremendous help in getting this new business, and I
encourage you to keep it up in the coming months.
I am optimistic that as we continue to deliver a dependable, quality and safe product that provides excellent service to
our major partners, more opportunity will come our way. Please work with me to do all we can to put ourselves in a
position to win the business when the opportunity presents itself.
Congratulations on a job well done and let’s keep it up!
Got you broskis covered.
