I see a couple of potential problems with this CQFO program.
1. A new CQFO will be on the bottom of two lists. The CA and FO list. Seems like a recipe to be abused while on reserve.
2. Once the CQFO becomes a permanent CA they will be on the bottom of the CA's list and will be kept there as those FO's senior to him/her upgrade.
Does a CQFO have to carry two sets of epelets?
Those are the only two the come to mind. Thoughts?

No way CQFO requirements are lowered. Also, yeah TSA has horrible movement with our 51 new aircraft. Mesa with 35 new airplanes has way better movement (sarcasm)

If you don't like the CQFO idea don't apply. Trust me there are plenty of applicant and plenty of pilots that want the job. Just when companies begin to furlough people will have missed the window as then we will have plenty of pilots to fill our seats.
I know some don't think furloughs are likely, but XJT is parking every single 145 within 2 years. Envoy is well, Envoy and some others may go out of business all together.
I have friends at these places that look like they are flying off a cliff and they all have interviews and see the writing on the wall.

First get your facts straight. XJT is not parking every single 145 in 2 years. We signed a new CPA that goes through 2017. Which also has two options for United to extend for two years. I can guarantee you that XJT is actually in a good position right now, I can not say why, but trust me we will prevail.

Yeah, if TSA gets desperate, they'll lower upgrade times. Was one of the lucky guys who upgraded with then at ATP mins on the 145 when they couldn't find pilots back in '07. As we said back then, it was the best deal in the airline industry. Proved short lived, hopefully this time will be longer.

As far as your hope for the United contract being extended...HAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously? Skywest doesn't want it, United doesn't want it. The only people who want it are XJT pilots and contract negotiations have spoken volumes on the future there.

Sorry, I forgot about the 15 AA planes. I only get my facts straight from a union rep I know there at XJT. Skywest plans on parking 240+ 145s by the end of 2017. Sorry if that doesn't count as every single one.

First none of our Union Reps told you that, maybe a former rep did that got voted out. Second United like our performance we are top of the list. As long as we fit in their cost structure we will still fly for them. Second Skywest does want us to shrink to where we can make money for them, which we will do, we have to stay up with attrition. So time will tell whether I am right or you are right, but good luck on the staffing issue you guys are having. ( By the way with your philosophy our AA flying is only a 2 or 3 year CPA as well so those would be parked as well.)
I trust my source as what he has said has also been said by others. We are not experiencing any pilot shortage or staffing problems at all.
