That's interesting because it would be almost impossible for a bro pilot to make that decision right now. They haven't announced domiciles or pay scale and we have no way of knowing how senior or junior the new plane will go. It would be a serious gamble to skip transition classes as a brasilia FO or CA just on the off chance that the E-175 might sound good in 8 months when they start up those classes.

They will make more since all their soft time will be paid at the E175 rate instead of the base CRJ rate, that’s an 8% pay increase on all soft time!

We need to get rid of the BHO (Brad Holt Override) in this next pay package!
I'm not sure why that would be an unpopular opinion. I definitely agree with you. The industry standard is to base pay scale on number of seats and the 175 will have the same number of seats as the 900. Getting rid of BHO would be great..

Sooooo... All you bro captains should transition so I can upgrade back into the emb and get some decent seniority. Excellent. Thank you.

Don't mean to come across as an A hole here, but if they require a MINIMUM of 1,500 hrs, why would they consider anyone with less than that? If you don't meet the minimums right now, wait until you do.

I have a friend who was 1.2 hours below the minimums when they were 1,000 and he couldn't get an interview. He set up his interview the day he hit 1,000. I had something similar because I didn't have the ATP written done and had to wait to schedule an interview. The minimums are hard minimums to interview, but the second you have them they'll interview you.

Only one's I've ever heard of getting an interview here at SkyWest below the posted minimums were current employees in other positions - ramp, dispatch, cs...They still had to get to the minimums before they could go to class.

SkyWest has always been very strict on that, and now we also have the new ATP requirements to deal with.

Around the same time I was hired here, I was also offered interviews at Comair, ACA, and Eagle well under their posted minimums. Even Airnet offered me a interview/job when I still needed another 100 hours or so to do 135 IFR. Point being, apply where you can, and hope for the best.

I wasn't sure if it was a hard minimum or not. I've been offered interviews were I didn't meet the mins and was asked to come out and if hired would have to wait until the required flight time was met. No biggie I'll keep updating Airline Apps since I'm only a month out from the TT.

Somehow they are going to slide this soft time pay difference in there. No way no how is SGU going to pay 900 rates for sim /deadhead. Either they reduce DH and training by 50% or they tie it to some other matrix.

Also, if the fence is high the plane is going to go very junior. If you can pu/drop trips or adjust your schedule between 230+/- CRJ's why risk a serious reduction in QOL on 40 planes (especially while they slowly come on line) just for a slight bump in pay. And, another training event which can torpedo any chance at a Legacy if you happen to choke on a sim check or oral. The risk v reward just isn't there. Let the new guys take the chances.
