Delta's new service from Seattle to San Jose will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines using 76-seat, two-class CRJ-900s.

Beginning December 20, 2014: Delta's new service from Seattle to Phoenix, Palm Springs and Tucson will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines using two-class, 76-seat aircraft, while Jackson Hole service will be operated with two-class, 65-seat aircraft.

Beginning June 9, Alaska will offer twice daily flights between Salt Lake City and Portland. The morning flights between the two cities will be operated by SkyWest Airlines

On June 9, Alaska will also add a third nonstop flight to its existing service between Salt Lake City and Seattle, which will be operated using a CRJ-700 aircraft.

And no offense to Horizon but SkyWest has before and will again fly between SEA and PDX.
SEA - PHX on a RJ, this industry blows.

That's nothing. I've done MSP-LAX, YYZ-DEN, IAH-ATL, etc. Absolutely ridiculous, I agree.

MSP-LAX, MSP-SFO and an occasional ORD-DEN on an RJ are the routes that surprise me even more.

Is Skywest losing any routes to Compass, Mesa, or mainline?

I wouldn't really call it losing routes, its more of a shuffling of routes. Delta with their west coast expansion leaves plenty of room for SkyWest and Compass to fly.

I agree it's a shuffling of routes. That's what I was trying to say, but I guess I didn't say it well. With Mainline and Compass expanding their presence out west it looks like a net loss to me from what Skywest is doing now

The biggest route SkyWest has "lost" to Compass is LAX-SFO, I know Compass will start doing LAX-SAN and LAX-PDX but I believe SkyWest will continue to do some of that as well... other then that if you look the the previous post of all the new stuff out of SEA. SkyWest is technically gaining more west coast routes.

These routes won't last. Delta is trying to go toe to toe with Alaska on these routes that are mostly flown with a Q. Especially the SEA-GEG route couple mainline flights rest Q's good luck trying to compete with a 900.

Delta is not dumb.. They have been doing these routes for a long time!! You just didn't know it. Called code sharing.. They know exactly how many seats they can and have sold. I predict Alaska to switch to the star alliance.. As it looks the Alaska/Delta love has come to a end.. (I think the restricted Delta pilots contract, when it comes to code share has done them well)
