Skywest recruitment event
I'm thinking about attending the skywest recruitment event in Memphis on the 30th. Has anyone here gone to one of these? If so, can you fill me in on what to expect? Of course a suit, tie, shiny shoes, etc... are in order but what kind of questions are they going to ask? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

It will begin with a presentation about the company. Then you will take a 50 question test that comes right out of the ATP written test bank (no questions with diagrams, no performance, no weight and balance) along with a 20 question mechanical aptitude test. They will then look at your paperwork and probably give you a HR/technical interview on the spot. Mostly a bunch of questions on Jepp charts, aircraft systems (basic turbine), and weather. It's all on www.aviationinterviews.com. If they like you they will give you a date in Salt Lake City for the simulator eval and role-playing exercise.

Actually you will not have to do any sort of written test at the job fair. It is not stessfull at all. After the presentation on the company you will be called into meet with one of the captains for a one-on-one for about 5-8 minutes. All they will ask you is some basic "required questions" such as: have you ever been convicted of a felony in the past 10 years..stuff like that, then they will ask you about your current job, if it's a cfi just basic questions on how you standardize your students, how you keep them motivated, your style of instruction, stuff like that. Just talk about yourself for a few minutes, make yourself sound good, then you can pick your day for a real interview is SLC in the next 2 weeks or so. Then within 2 weeks you should be in class... Good Luck
What they do at the group interviews seems to depend on the number of applicants, number of staff, and time available. It could end up being the full interview minus the sim and CRM. Be prepared...

Thanks for your help! I've already been looking at aviationinterviews.com for some time, but none of the gouges specifically state anything about "recruitment events". I will hit the books a little harder now and hope for the best. Thanks again!

I don't think they have a requirement to attend, but I'm pretty sure they will send you home if you don't have their minimums. As of today www.skywest.com states 1,000 - hours total time, 100 - hours multi engine, 100 - hours instrument (Max 20 hours simulator) as their mins.

Skywest Job Fair
i went to one of the open job fairs that skywest put on. Like Rickair said the format all depends on how many people show up. If they have a lot of people then they just do the required. If there are just a few they will probably go a lot more in depth. Just be yourself. Don't try to pull some macho bull or the I get along with everyone kinda routine. They can smell through it. They are cunning. Like a blood hound. HA
Ok seriously, Skywest is one of the friendliest airlines I've interviewed with. They want to know you and they want you to get to know them. That's why they offer these job fairs. Make sure you're going with the right hours. 1000tt, 100multi. The first thing they do is take your resume and check the hours.
Just like always. Relax, ask questions, have fun and learn. Maybe I'll see some of you in class soon.

Does that mean the 100 hours of instrument is not firm at one of these recruitment events? I ask because I have the TT and Multi plus 121 CRJ time but I am a couple hours away from the instrument requirement.
