If you're a line holder. Don't answer your phone. Or better yet just turn it off.

That's all well and good until they get you while on a trip. Once you contact them for cancellation, reschedule, etc, you are fair game for junior assignment on a later date. They've done it before and they'll do it again.

"A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part".

FAT 61.65 is pretty clear what you need to do if your physically or mentally unfit to fly, even on days off.

You are not a slave. Just tell them you are sick or fatigued.

Obviously. All I'm saying is that passing on premium open time will only have a minimal effect.

That's not complete true. If no one touches it they will start splitting more trips up. If no one touches those it goes to double time. When they announce "critical mass"(haha), then we truelly have a staffing issue... other then that this is all par for the course for a dieing airline that refuses to upgrade...

Haha they put that out almost minutes after I posted.. regardless, we are losing 19 aircraft this fall and will soon be oversstaffed on the crj side. All while they negotiate for lower block hours on the erj side.... pathetic
