I don't understand. What would you rather talk about? I've run into plenty of retired Vietnam or Gulf War pilots who have incredible stories. But you're right...maybe you can talk about sports and stuff.

Nice try but not even close! ERAU was not on my list.

IROP again for the IAD guys. Enjoy the severe weather that is currently impacting your operation. Oh wait, haha. There isn't any. Well played company. A rat needs to go up in front of the ALPA center in Atlanta.

Tutt was eating lunch with his former Delta co-workers at least once a week.

One of my interview questions was, "what would your Chief Pilot say about you?"

I said, "I saw him right down the hall, we could ask him." They laughed and said, "we already have, but we wanted to hear what you would say."
Is it really a preferential interview if everyone in DCI gets one?

And I think way too much weight is placed in the alleged "good 'ol boy network" getting people hired. That may have been true 7-10 years ago when "knowing" Plato got you an interview, but this time, with so many highly qualified civilian RJ pilots vying for so many spots, I'm willing to bet the good ol boy BS, having lunch with CT, and what squadron you flew for isn't going to mean much. The Old Guard at Delta better prepare themselves for a paradigm shift in their "culture" as these civilians come in.

Waiting for the e-mail from ALPA today:

We made a mistake and we didn't catch an error with the bidding runs. There will be a delay in the ATL/DTW/IAD CRJ/CR7 awards as we get this issue fixed with the company. We are sorry that we made this mistake again. We expect the awards to be out by the end oft he 25th. Hope you weren't planning on planning anything.

And this has nothing to do with the 20th falling on a weekend, and Hambones doesn't deliver to us on the weekends.

There isn't weather within 100 miles of IAD right now.

Pssst... WE'RE UNDERSTAFFED! So you all get your contract waived to make up for it!

"TFAYD and happy Acey Day! Kudos to maintenance and OCC for their incredible efforts in getting us through these Operational Challenges! (Screw those obnoxious lazy whiny flight crews)".

Following email from crew scheduling - "The company has not reached an operable schedule for the month of august due to unforseen circumstances". We have decided on coin flips for all junior pilot schedules, followed by unstacking for the lower 50% of line holders. Reserves will be issued lashings until moral approves. We appreciate your patience in this matter and scheduling/OCC is hard at work. (Solitaire).

Question.....

A Trip was originally marked as premium, and now they pulled the premium. I'm going to be there that day anyways, so I may just come in a little early and make a little bit more money, but now it's not worth it to me. I thought I recall that once a trip has been marked premium, that it will have to be paid at premium even if they change it. Does anyone know the clarification on that?

Once again, Joey shows why he's what's wrong with this industry. "I've got mine so even if it screws else, I'll ride this fat ugly pig to the end no matter how bad it gets for everyone else."

All because he got shot down by the majors years ago and is now a bitter, over-the-hill, scared lifer.

The better attitude would be I'll stand my ground to make this a decent place to work since I want to finish my time here, not I'll take whatever scraps they'll give me so I can further the race to the bottom, even in a pilot shortage.
Speaking of which, I hope no one votes yes on a TA that would be a concession to the XJT contract/to 2/3 of us/to the industry. I hope we stand with the eagle MEC on that!
