Regionals open and close bases constantly, especially this one. Don't go to any airline based on base, especially a regional! Go to a regional that can get you PIC time as quickly as possible, then get out! "Legacy" regionals like XJT and Eagle are stagnant. Upgrade time her is 8+ years and increasing as we shrink! This would be a horrible career move right now!

Thanks. I turned down others because I didn't want to be on reserve away from home. It seemed foolish to me to do that when ExpressJet has a base that's a 30 minute drive from my house.

Everything in aviation is a crapshoot of luck and timing. Even though bases are constantly open and shutdown, I would take the chance of being on reserve in base than not. This would improve your QOL way more than having to get a crash pad and commuting in on your days off for that early morning reserve period. If the base that you live in closes, then cross that bridge if/when it happens.
Also, the L-XJT has one of the best contracts around and our (L-ASA) comes in a close second. So regardless, for the time being you will get to enjoy the benefits of that as well. Chasing an upgrade to eventually stagnate probably would not be the best decision as there are countless applicants with 1000+ TPIC time that haven't yet been hired by a legacy or an LCC.
Unfortunately, I do not have a number or a name of anyone in HR but maybe someone else could chime in with that.

Hello all
I would really like to get hired by ExpressJet and have turned down other offers in hopes of hearing from them for an interview. I've had my app in with them for a couple months now and have not heard back from them. I have all the qualifications they require according to the "compare my app" feature on airlineapps.com. I have 2000TT and 55 multi. Can someone please PM me a name and phone number to someone in HR that I can give a call to and make sure they have my app? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Contract doesn't matter if you're going to be an FO for 8 years. From a pure financial standpoint you'll make WAY more at regionals like Compass, PSA, and Mesa. Those hired today at those Airlines will be Captains in 2 years or less making 70k+ while someone hired the same time at XJT will be making 35k slinging gear for the foreseeable future.
What's that saying? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?

Well I don't know if I would go as far as being evil but I would say that our CEO is unethical, immoral, and disgusting for the practice of whipsaw he employes ON HIS OWN EMPLOYEES to try to extract some of our meager compensation just so that he can packet more money.
