I interviewed in ORF last February, they said they did it there so people didn't get stuck in Wisconsin in the winter.

I assume any initial training is going to be challenging due to the volume of new info one has to digest is a short amount of time.

The training department has always given extra sim time to people, as long as you show you are really trying. Although recently I've heard people are racking up 100+ hours of Ioe, aka 5 trips 4-day trips, when normally it's only 2 4day trips.

Can you explain the free vacation part? Do you get paid time of when someone requires IOE in your place?
I'm new to ALL the 121 jargon, thanks in advance for the help.

I'm guessing OWP means "Off with pay"
IOE Initial Operational Experience
OE. Operational Experience
They are the same thing, different airlines use different jargon. Usually your first 30 hours online where you fly with a Check Airman as you get used to the aircraft and operational environment.

^^^that^^^ and yes, every time I am paired with a Check airman I get off with pay so someone can get their training.
Are you able to bid to be with a Check airman or is this something that happens random? Does OWP usually only available to senior FO's? Sounds like a sweet deal!
