It isn't garbage. It appears Richard Anderson, Wychor, & Lee Moak have all circumvented Delta pilots Sec 1 with this bridge agreement. If allowed, it sets a precedent that could lead to serious repercussions for Delta pilots and the industry. It's no laughing matter, & it certainly isn't garbage.

So does that mean that the pool of potential guaranteed interviewees is now further reduced by 30-40% (or more)? [Guessing there is a good percentage of pilots that do not have a 4 year degree.]

That's going to cut a lot of people out of the running. Perhaps that's how they expect to complete the bridge process so quickly.

Really?
  • You can't stop us from discussing modification to our Section 1 by your MEC without the concurrence of our MEC
  • Any Delta pilot can file a grievance if the Company unilaterally modifies the Delta Pilot Working Agreement
You get your yes vote and again, good luck to you.

Also, 1/3 of the pilots can be taken out of seniority order. However, they have to go through the full interview process. Bizarre who wrote this thing.

Thats a good thing, I personally commend DAL for requiring a 4 year degree. We consider ourselves professionals, we should at least be educated.

2) have previously held a Captain position on the Pinnacle, Mesaba or Colgan pilot seniority list and be on an approved leave of absence from Pinnacle and not have accepted employment as a pilot while on leave at any of the following U.S. air carriers: American, United, US Airways, Southwest, JetBlue, Alaska, Hawaiian, FedEx, UPS, Virgin America, or Spirit.

vi. not be under a training freeze under the Pinnacle-ALPA CBA, and

So, if I read that correctly, if one downgrades rather than taking a leave, he is no longer eligible until he upgrades again and has satisfied the seat lock.

Taking leave in hopes of getting Delta's call is almost as risky a bet as is paying for a 73 type to woo Southwest.

Plenty of dumb educated people out there. Just look at the HR dept. a 4 year degree just proves that you have the cash and time to attend. You don't have to be very smart to see college is designed to get people in debt. From the time they leave high school to their death bed. What's the name of the richest guy in the world? What college did he drop out of?

Not saying it's bad. Just pointing out that if it seems too good to be true, well, it usually is. This would leave alot more guys out of the "loop". And that "loop" really isn't too great to begin with.
