Last I heard new hires were still staying at the sleep inn in single occupancy rooms.
Best Western Plus in Tempe now, but otherwise that seems pretty spot on.

Due to sim waits, they've also discussed sending guys to other cities to get it done faster, including the potential for St. Louis, Toronto, and even Copenhagen.

New question: how easy is it to leave on the weekends? My family will be staying in Austin and I'd like to make it out to see them every now and then.

Like prior121 stated...6-8 weeks is what guys are told.

Indoc,GOM,Systems,Oral,FPT/IPT,SIM,Checkride,Loft,IOE(Intitial operating Experience) Line Check .... Finish.

Standard order with Full Type + ATP. (If needed)

I heard guys are now at a better hotel than sleep inn.

EJET guys just indoc/GOM in PHX and then off to STL (flight safety)

Now the Best Western Plus in Tempe, same one where the FAs stay. They put me up there for one night while I was waiting for IOE. Plenty of places to eat, convenient/drug stores, and a mall all within a couple of blocks. It's quite a step up from where the previous classes have been staying.

The first weekend you only have Sunday off. The next weekend or two you'll get the whole weekend, but they recommend you use it for study time. Could you get to Austin and back? Probably, but it'd be tight and if for some reason you didn't get back, I'm sure there would be some issues...

Copenhagen, Denmark, yeah. I guess it's more cost effective than keeping a potential pilot sidelined two weeks.

18 more PHX CRJ FO vacancies just announced for a 9/1 effective date.

I think new hires by September will be able to hold PHX right out of training.

That is sweet, sweet music to my ears. (Not gonna hold my breath til it happens, though.)

Yeah, it'd be fantastic. Airways is shifting flying from CLT to PHX, and we're expecting a lot of West coast flying from American. LAX is for sure (tentatively those pilots will all be Phoenix based), and that's expected to begin around the end of the year. Dallas flying is extremely likely in2015; it remains to be seen if those crews will be PHX or Dallas based.
