"Still, even some pilots who got hired by the airlines before the new rules took effect, regret their choice. One of them is Richard Papp, 26, a third-year pilot at ExpressJet trying to raise his 2-year-old daughter on a $29,000-a-year salary. "This was a lifelong dream," he said. "But if I could do it all over again, I'd do something different."
Nightmares are dreams too... I asked my garbage man how much he makes, about $60,000 his second year.

No doubt!! Who wouldn't want to get up at 5:00am every morning and sling trash 5 days a week, rain or shine, for the rest of their life? Great conversation, happy customers, yep, that right there is a dream. You can tell all your pilot buddies that you love it because you're home every night, in your own bed too!

Have you ever seen an old garbage man? My guess is they go out on disability by age 50.

My garbage man doesn't get out of his air conditioned / heated truck. Just drives around the neighborhood picking up wheelie bins with a mechanical arm. Granted not very glamerous but certainly not as bad as the stigma would suggest.
