Where those will be living is yet to be announced.
They won't be living anywhere, as they don't matter. There is nothing a 200 can do that a 900 can't do. Any flying the 70-76er's can't do, will be covered by mainline. Look at Delta's profit and revenue, and then look at the cost of the mainline pilot contract as a whole. Your contract is quickly becoming a rounding error on Delta's balance sheet, and us Endeavor pilots are basically working for free.

I don't think so, 81 airplanes is how many pilots? About 900? No way there are enough lifers here to staff those, they won't be able to staff the 900's by next summer (2015). The status quo can only last so long. As the shrinking continues you will see more FOs leaving because of a degraded QOL and forced NY commute. How many MSP lifers are going to spend their last 5 years at an airline commuting to NY to fly for Endeavor? Hiring is only going to get harder and harder. They can only delay making changes so long. The 81 RJs are under contract, what does Delta do when they have brand new airplanes they are forced to keep at 9E but they don't have the pilots to fly them? Sell 9E? Does that get them out of the contract? There is no way they can keep those 900's flying at Endeavor for the length of the contract they signed. It is impossible under the current circumstances. They are either going to have to wiggle out of the contract next year or offer some huge incentives to get new hires. Small pay raises, improved pass rider benefits, bonuses and other similar gimmicks are not going to cut it.

I can think of many ways to staff those planes. How about with mainline pilots? Hire a mainline pilot, make them go to Endeavor for 5 years, there you go, staffing crisis solved 100%.

Bring on the flak...but I seriously think something along these lines is what they are working on. To make it viable they'd have to also interview everyone on property SSP or not and give conditional job offers too so it isn't just the new hires going through the Delta screening with a Delta job. If someone is offered a guaranteed job at DAL but has to do an indentured servitude at 9E before being called up many will see that as the easiest road to Delta and our hiring issues at least in short term will be solved...IMO

Still won't stop me from trying to leave though. Way I see it this place either goes to being really good, or really bad like Comair II bad. There is no middle.

Delta passengers upset because pilot doesn't show

Whoops! Slow news day but I'm sure this will show up on some politicians desk as evidence the new pilot rules are "messing up" everything for the airlines.

I think we all know the pilot "just didn't show up" is a false statement. The media at it again. This is a perfect opportunity for ALPA to make a point. Will they? Doubt it. This is just the beginning. I'd say this becomes a weekly front page story by mid-july. The question is will ALPA combat the claims of management of the rest rules being at fault? Not only do we have to put up with hostile managers, but now they're turning the passengers against us.
