This year was no different, except for the fact that CC said no on double pay this year.
Why would anyone be furloughed? I've been told they will be hiring indefinitely!

That's the point. SkyWest has never furloughed a pilot. Ever. The saying around here is, when we stop playing catch-up (on hiring) then it's time to start worrying.

The Way the hiring is at SkyWest now, from what they told me, is that they r hiring for attrition. If that is true, they won't be able to get additional planes, as they won't have the pilots. I also doubt that Gojet could add additional planes...they won't be able to find pilots. That is the paradigm shift: Before the majors could move planes to the lowest bigger, and that regional could gin up pilots very quickly. Today there aren't thousands of guys sitting around with ATPs looking to fly.

I've been told that if SkyWest wins a contract for 40 airplanes or so. The company would park the brasilia to supply pilots of the extra flying.

The good news / bad news for SKW is that December flying will have the highest scheduled hours of 2014. It's going to be very busy with a large schedule and the possibility of pilots timing out.

RAH is parking their 50 seaters to staff the E175s they were awarded, so that's quite possible.
