Default Tricked: PDT keeping turboprops anyway

From PDT's president:

"For those of you concerned with Dash 8 flying, rest assured that our turboprops aren’t going away any time soon. The Dash is an important part of the American Airlines’ route structure, and we expect to continue to fly both the -100s and -300s for the foreseeable future. Two of our Dash 8s have been painted in American Eagle livery; 23 more are scheduled to be painted over the next several months."

Yea read the paragraph above that. It said they have begun the process to add regional jets to the operating certificate by hiring a consultant, with more information forthcoming.

Complete troll thread. 1/10.

"With this foundation, we are beginning the process of preparing Piedmont for re-fleeting with regional jets. We have already started working with a consultant to add RJs to our certificate. I will share more information on the process in the weeks and months to come."

Yawn, I see what you did there. Took it out of context. Of course they are staying, and other planes will be added. Even if not, we still flow and nothing changes. Sensationalism...

not a troll thread. I was referring to the fear of getting shut down because everyone was saying turboprops are obsolete and without jets PDT would be shut down. I didn't deny you guys will get jets.

I was just pointing out that according to your company, the turboprops are sticking around anyway.

We were told the same thing at Envoy about our CRJs...

Almost half retire in 2017. That's a shut down when your airline has 34 flying planes

Foreseeable future isn't very long I guess. At least for the smart guys in charge.

Definitely believe management.

"Envoy Air president and CEO Pedro Fábregas issued a message to airline employees that started by praising the carrier’s April performance, then moved into soothing words about the airline’s future.

Among the reassurances was that the carrier’s 47 Bombardier CRJ-700s, Envoy’s only airplanes with more than 50 seats, are going to be staying put for a while.

“Going forward, I hope everyone appreciates that both of our company’s major business units – our flying business and our ground business – remain vitally important to us. Our flying business remains one of the largest regional air service providers in the country that flies for the largest airline in the world,” Fábregas wrote in an internal message to employees.

“As American has previously stated, 25 of our Embraer 140 aircraft will be retired by the end of 2014 and Envoy will continue to fly approximately 200 aircraft for the foreseeable future – including our 47 larger Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft,” he said."

You don't seem to be able to get it through your head. The dashes are timing out, they are leaving regardless. We already knew this, just like your MEC already knew the CR7s were leaving Eagle regardless.
