They'll pretty much positive space you anywhere you need to be.
A visit to the National Museum of the Air Force should be considered mandatory. Get there right when it opens and register for the bus to the X-Plane hangar, or whatever it's called.
Google is your friend.
The Clarion has a Meijer next door; I don't know about the other hotel.
Best advice anyone can give you.
No idea. Apparently CLT can be had pretty quick, you'll probably spend the longest time on reserve in CLT though.
Ever hear of Jepps?
Is there much to do around the area on the weekends? I will have my truck if I need to get around.
Good place for a haircut?
Good grocery store?
Any advice for those of us whom will be working towards our first jet type/airline job?
Can anyone tell me if CLT is still attainable right off of IOE and if there are any updates to how long some guys are sitting reserve?
Should I spend the money to update my foreflight subscription and will my personal ipad be usable once I'm flying?

Thanks guys, I have been studying my Jepp plates and feel pretty confident with them. I was thinking of using foreflight/stratus as just another tool to help out in the cockpit. Wx, progressive taxi, etc... That thing comes in pretty handy sometimes.
Also, how short of notice before your class date did you receive a travel itinerary? Those I've talked to in the January 5th class haven't heard a peep about it. I figured with the holidays it probably wasn't a high priority for them, but I'm hoping I hear something by early next week.

Leaving for the January 5th class next Friday... Driving up from JAX over the weekend before class starts. I have a few questions myself and some of the other newbs are hoping to get some answers for:
Does the company pay for air fare to/from training?

And lastly, I've spoken to some guys in the early January class, but if anyone else wants to, feel free to PM me.

I know guys getting clt before starting IOE. Don't know how long that will last. Not sure how the lines are being divided since Mesa is pulling out.

I am in the Jan 19th class, and have a few questions.
Is TYS still most junior, then DAY, them CLT? I will be commuting from DFW and CLT is my first choice. If assigned something other than CLT, I understand I can bid for it at the next vacancy.
They told us during the interview that there are vacancy bids every two weeks as that is how frequently there are new hire classes, is this still the case?
How long after being awarded a new base does the transfer occur?
Would bidding DAY in the hopes of holding a line sooner and then only transferring to CLT once I can hold a line be a good strategy?
With regards to the SAP, would it be feasible to pick up a two-day that has a show after your released on day 4? This getting a five day in to ease the commute?
Thanks
