69.99 x 9000 = 629,910 a year.

Should have been a Software Engineer.

The big questions are since they have you signed up and doling out your money what is the impetus to do any updates or improvements to the product? Anyone? Anyone? Crickets.

The other little issue is:
"a single auto-renewing subscription (either monthly or annually)"

What's to say that Noah doesn't "automatically" increase your monthly or annual subscription rate whenever he pleases to get that new house by the lake, with the fancy boat, floatplane and the flash car?

I would like to see the fine print on that deal, on the "Agreement". How hard is it to cancel the auto-renewing subscription? Honestly though, since I am not going to continue with the Coradine Extortion Plan I really don't care.

I was happy with Logten 6.5.1 and after they finally got the bugs out (for the most part - had some major issues at one point in time). The iCloud Sync was working pretty well.

Now that Logten 6.5.1 doesn't work as when it was sold, as far as I am concerned some of the smart lawyer types should get a Class Action Lawsuit together since the product we purchased (at greater than normal market price) no longer functions as marketed. A reputable company would have patched this gratis, then they could have gone on and marketed their latest and greatest.

I have paid close to $425.00 for all this over a 4-5 year period. That is just too much for too little and way too many broken promises. All this for a product that has only one purpose.

I paid substantially less for Microsoft Office, and get a lot more utilization.

I also heard some rumors that the numbers are misleading about “pilots” vs. “device installs”.

Also I've been told by some developers that the update to iCloud is a simple one on the programming end. I don't see why the app couldn't have just been tweaked versus creating a new one and charging for again...

It's a VERY simple update, they just needed an excuse for a new app (since they were working on one at the time)

If the price stayed at 35 it would be understandable!

Transition from Log Ten Pro

After Coradine has changed its payment plan, our Helpdesk is swamped by pilots using Log Ten Pro before.

The following questions often come back :

1. When is the Mac OS application released ?

mccPILOTLOG currently runs as Windows program. We are developing a new application that runs cross-platform on Mac, Windows and even on Linux, the latter is not targetted / supported. The new software will soon be released as BETA for ALL pilots.
2. Will I be charged twice when switching from (virtual) Windows to the Mac application ?

No, your license key for Windows PC remains valid for Mac OS, there are no extra charges ! The license key can be used on 9 devices simultaneously (this technical limit will even be lifted with the next Version).
3. Will you change your payment plan towards a subscription model, like Coradine ?

mccPILOTLOG charges a one-time payment for life-time use of the software. There are no extra charges for any software updates and for Helpdesk support 24/7. A team of 16 coders is working full-time on mccPILOTLOG, mccROSTER, mccPILOTCAL and other apps. It takes a simple calculation to understand the difficult balance between monthly returning costs versus one-time earnings...

We may eventually move towards a similar subscription model. However, contrary to Coradine, we commit to never charge existing loyal users. Should we change to a new payment plan, it would apply to new users only.
4. Can I import my records from Log Ten Pro ?

mccPILOTLOG imports data from 35 other electronic logbooks, including Log Ten Pro. Do the following steps :

- File (or) Reports
- Export (Exporters)
- Export Flights (Tab)
- Generate Report (choose 3 times ALL)
- ZIP the FLIGHTS.TXT file

Email the ZIP file to our Helpdesk for modification and review. The average delay is 3 to 5 business days, this may take a bit longer as we are swamped with requests from Log Ten Pro users.

There is no need to purchase any of the paid editions in order to import your records. You can import the converted file and log new records with the FREE standard edition of mccPILOTLOG. There is no limit of "40 hours" and there is no trial period ! In fact, we strongly advise to first install and test-run the free software in order to make sure the application runs fine on your desktop.

so let me get this straight, the computer form is free, but the IOS(Iphone) app is 69.99 a year?

Why is everyone b*tching about the IOS version? Your logbook still works, the fact you can still print it for free is all you need.

Astec, the laptop/desktop version is only "free" if you log less than 40 hours. You won't be able to log more than 40 hours without subscribing. So, unless you've retired, the b****ing is valid.

That is absolutely not true. There's plenty to complain about the iOS subscription, but you can't just make up more to support your argument. You yourself posted the email from Coradine...

LogTen Pro X for Mac is free. Download it here right now and use it, no cost, no subscription, no restrictions – the best logbook on the market, on your desktop at no charge.
From all the misinformation in this thread, I thought the same thing about the Mac version. But when I couldn't find any way to subscribe in the Mac program, I dug a little deeper. The email confirmed what I finally figured out, there is no subscription for the Mac version. I currently have 50+ hours logged in it (in addition to the thousands of hours brought in from version 6), and imported my Nov schedule for much more. The subscription only applies to the iOS version, to include mobile logging and the sync function.

That's what I got from the plethora of info in this thread. The Mac version is completely free with no restrictions. For those, like myself, who don't need to log every leg as soon as I finish flying it, in my phone, I don't see a problem. Just write it in the red books and update it in a week or two.
