Default Jumpseat SNA check in required

I've jumpseated and non-revved out of SNA countless times over the past two years. When I tried to list on a Skywest flight yesterday I was told that new policy requires us to check in at the front desk prior to going through security. Luckily I was a bit early and had plenty of time.

Just a heads up for anyone else planning on flying out of SNA over the holidays.

What!!?? A crew badge, whether I am in uniform or not, has gotten me through security at SNA countless times. Plus they have KCM too.

That's not a new policy, just some BS a lazy gate agent made up. Heard it years ago.

Make sure you know your priority for the JS as well. The Delta gate agents will pretend they don't.

Speaking of JS priority, does anyone know how Delta runs there priority? Mainly regarding Delta Connection... Is it first come first serve if its not your company metal?

Getting through security was not an issue. However, once I arrived at the gate to list for the flight, I was kindly directed back to the front desk to list.

The gate agent was very helpful and apologetic. I doubt it was a result of "laziness". After I questioned her she was on the phone with a supervisor to confirm her claim.

I am not an employee of Skywest or any other 121 airline for that matter. I am fortunate enough to have access to non-rev/js privileges. An argument about policy would have been fruitless. This is simply a heads up for others trying to jump through SNA.

I had no issues in SLC the day before.
