Default Anything New At AWAC?

Just curious if any new flying is being talked about since the DL deal didn't work out? Seems like a good company, hopefully new flying in the future.

All aircraft are being painted in the new American Eagle livery starting next summer, which looks like good news. American was up in Appleton a few weeks ago to meet about something, so who knows.

From what I heard is once we started talking to Delta, AA got a lot more serious in talking about the future. I guess they have been in talks the last month or so fairly regularly.

It sounds like without question we are utilizing our 2 year extension so AWAC will be around until late 2017 worst case.

Ive been told it appears to be an 8 year deal they are working towards. I guess its a 10 year deal, but they are counting our 2 years of our extension as part of the it thus leaving another 8.

Regardless of what happens here its not a career ending im completely F'd deal if we closed in 2 years. I never cared at all about the contract ending when I came here a year and a half ago. Here is what I find humorous though.

For all the talk about how Parker and everyone at AA hates us because we are so expensive, why in the last year (when 117 started) have we continuously done both PSA and Republic flying month after month? Every month we are being asked to do more and more. Thats why if we really do get another 8 years its pretty funny considering all the cost cutting and BS that went on at the wholly owns.

At the end of the day (I forget the number), but AWAC does a very very high number of daily departures for AA. Goodluck replacing that in any kind of "quick" timeframe.

Remember when UAL was going through bankruptcy and was trying to shed the AWAC contract? AWAC made a deal on the side with US Airways using the the escrow money that was slated for United had they resigned, and told United to F-off.

Not only did they secure a vastly better deal with Airways, the owners made about $300 mil off their stock allotment.

I'm guessing something similar happened again. AWAC went to Delta, word got out to Airways/AA, and they said "whoa whoa hold on, let's not get crazy" and gave AWAC an offer that was vastly better than Delta's. Hence why AWAC then told Delta to F-off, which is just awesome BTW.

Why would AA care how expensive you are?

They pay AWAC a negotiated fee, what AWAC does with that fee is of no matter to AA.

As far as taking flying I don't know anything about RAH but as for PSA at that time (Feb-Apr '14) there was a massive backlog in the training dept due to poor planning on the company's side. I haven't heard of AWAC doing any more of our flying since.

That sounds promising. Is hiring continuing?

That's good news for my friends over there. Plus AA needs the feed.

AA pays for fuel. AA pays for Cat 2 quals. But yeah most of it is a fee for departure per leg.

Awac has been doing two psa crj lines for the last 5 months.

Awac announced they are painting planes to the new AA livery starting summer 2015. So at least we will be around until 2015

I really hope the best for all of us at AWAC, but painting begins in August. That's 7 months away. I would feel a little more confident if at least one of our airplanes was already painted in the new livery.
