A conditional bonus is money in your pocket, yes, but it is not a pay raise. Pay raises are contractual and enforceable, conditional bonuses are temporary and can disappear faster than they came to exist. So, it may be money for you to go play with, but in 2 years you might find yourself trying to live with no conditional bonus, plan and live carefully...

With all of the movement at other places, why are you staying?

Even with all the movement that is projected mainline jobs are not guaranteed. Despite what people say PIC is not required but it certainly helps, and as a FO at Envoy you won't be getting any of that.

People, this bonus is an actual TA/LOA that will be IN THE CONTRACT, just as enforceable as everything else in the contract, not just some gentleman's handshake on the part of Delta.

As long as you admit this retention bonus a) isn't a pay raise and b) won't actually retain you, I wouldn't care if it were a check for $26,666.

Good for you on a personal level. I'm sure this money that brings your overall pay back to industry standard helps tremendously for you and your family. But it's not a pay raise, it's a conditional bonus.

It's conditional on you still being here when they pay it out. Just like if you leave a job that's giving you an hourly wage increase before it becomes effective. Guess what? You won't get that either. I'm not sure why you're so hung up on the word conditional?

Why do you care? Go clean up the mess in your own house before you jump on a pedestal and knock others down. 9E starting pay is higher than your companies and their 5th year FO pay only lags a couple bucks per hour behind. If you think they are working for subpar wages and you aren't then you have some serious blinders on. A new hire joining 9E today will bank over a quarter of a million dollars in < 5 years. How much is a new hire at your company going to bank over that same time period?
