I'd say it's a toss up. Do you want to fly the ERJ or the CRJ?

I think people should only offer info on their respective company.

New hires at Endeavor are getting MSP right away. They say they are working on extending the SSP in some form to new hires but nothing is official therefore take it with a grain of salt. The retention bonus is a nice pay boost. It also seems like they want us to keep the 200 since they threw this kind of money at us. But it is only my opinion. Best of luck in your decision.

I agree with all of the above. Endeavor would be better for your QOL. But you will upgrade faster at compass and most likely never see MSP as a pilot there as they continue to shrink DTW(closing in june) and MSP, and focus there operations out west. Commuting from MSP to the west coast I would think might provide some challenges but I am sure it can be done. To make up for not upgrading faster at Endeavor you have the retention bonus for the next 4 years which will make life much much easier and better for you. My advice go to the place where you don't have to commute. Commuting is the devil.

this.

idk why you guys think he wont get MSP as an FO at Compass. Most jr MSP FO was hired late November 2014, so he did what maybe a month or two in LAX tops? I think its safe to say that time frame would go down as well as flows and upgrades continue.

OP, you have two good options. Both give you the option to be based at home as an FO but you will most definitely have to commute for some time as a Captain. Feel free to pm me whatever questions you have.

Look long term. Compass looks like a safe bet. Delta owning a regional has not been good in the past.. And doubt that trend will change..

Skywest is probably the best bet if you want MSP and want a quick upgrade in QOL. I just don't see any new hires having any decent amount of QOL in MSP at Endeavor for at least a year, if not longer. There are a lot of people who were forced out of MSP to NY, you will continue to get bumped down by people returning and it is very possible you would be forced to NY. I don't think you can count on MSP, especially if you can't get the 200. The money is the only reason to come to 9E and/or if you live in NY and can get the 900. Or if you are gambling on a Delta interview. Things are better at 9E but the QOL/schedules get worse every month.

Anyone who has been coming to NY for the last couple vacancies has done it voluntarily. Many guys who were involuntarily displaced to NY last year have even decided to stay.

After this summer, compass won't have any remaining flows to delta while endeavor will start losing 15-20 guys a month just to delta alone for several years. Compass might have a quicker upgrade right now, but that will change.

Latest vacancy is showing 25 net upgrades.

Wait...15-02 is out?! Ah, there it is...ok a little off topic. Net 25 CA positions open, but 50 FO positions open. Correct me if I am wrong, but since this is a realignment and not a vacancy that means 25 downgrades? Please tell me that logic is highly flawed.

9E if you want to be based in MSP + you will make a lot more money at Endeavor. Upgrade might take a little longer but either way you will likely be at a major in 5 years now that the flood gates have opened.

At Endeavor, on the FO side, MSP will likely be much quicker for a new hire. For captain upgrade, it's likely going to be a while as that is the base with the most lifer captains, followed closely by DTW. The fastest upgrade is and probably will be for some time, in New York.
That's not true at all. All of the DTW captains are eligible to flow within the next 9 months and I don't see anyone on the list that plans to stay with Compass. There are 19 FOs currently in DTW who will all be eligible to upgrade (and hold LAX) by June. That means there's about a 2% chance that a a couple will make their way to MSP by the fall.
