Most jr mesa captain october 2014 hire

You seem focused on me being a "regional lifer" and "retiring as an envoy Captain". If you are trying to insinuate I have not succeeded in life, I urge you to look in the mirror and rethink how you actually evaluate yourself. The things you choose to pick out in me are a direct link to how you judge yourself.
You are right about one thing, it isn't all about the money, it's about how much time, or how little time, you spend earning that money. I think most on here want to make the most money while spending the least amount of time earning it. Apparently you never figured that one out, or maybe you were too ego driven to go back to FO at a major, pity.
Getting schooled? Really? Go ahead and hide behind a screen name and continue to take these little barbs with your **brofist**. Just know this, I'm doing the job you and many others so desperately want.

Wow, simply wow! The fact is you are a regional lifer, and my comment on that was in response to your "Mr. Mainline awesomesauce" comment. So before you go all introspective here, we've never met and I don't "evaluate" myself against folks on anonymous forums, I could care less.
Well good for you. I would bet most on this forum came in to this profession not dreaming of slinging gear on an RJ to Shreveport. No, most if not all probably aspire to fly the big iron all over the world. Heck you probably had those same aspirations when you started out.

Again, WOW. To think, you command an airliner.

I agree mainline is a much better place long term but I'm not blind to the fact that it doesn't make me any better of a person to be here. That's were your attitude really makes you look like a prick. At least 70% of the commuters F/Os I flew with back when I was there could be a mainline guy. I just happen to realize how incredibly lucky I was to get a phone call to interview. The majority of guys aren't going to even get a shot (at least not for a while), they're just going to get recycled through commuter hell.

When he made the decision to stay put vs. flow, based on his years left until retirement, chances are it was a break even point at best in terms of pay. Factor in the QOL hit he'd take his first couple years and I can understand why he wouldn't want to go to the bottom of the list again at another carrier.

As far as getting a shot at mainline, I would argue anyone at a regional has a pretty good shot over the next 5 years. In fact, the entire regional industry may be extinct in the next 10 years as mainline management continues to transfer block hours back to mainline. In fact, that is happening as we speak at UAL.

I'm sorry, but I was at a regional when 9/11 happened. Prior to that ASA was hiring E120 street Captains, and CRJ Captain was about 16 months. 9/11 brought that to a screeching halt and majors furloughed, so spare the sob story.
