The schedules are horrid and FLiCA was a big waste of time and money for the most part. It is basically just a piece of software for automating the trip trade rejection process. Instead of a human being rejecting 98% of all trades it is a computer. Once you get off reserve you will be forced to fly the max allowable hours every month and your bid will be ignored unless you get to the top 10% of your category.

It seemed to me when I wanted to fly, I got three readies in a row. When I didn't, I got 4 day trips. I don't know about other bases, but JFK the ready assignments are no worse than they were a year or two years ago. Now, if today (I hold a line now) they are using that 'you are the only one so we have to do more than 3 readies for you this week' or more than 10 a month...then that IS a problem. A DTW FO was commenting to me recently that it seems 9E is biting off more than we can chew when it comes to covering other's flying. Many reserves fly, but those who are left after assignments are given, are stuck with marathon ready reserve?

I'm a line-holding CA but I bid reserve a few months this summer to get days off I needed. I was the most senior guy on reserve every day and almost everyday that I could be contractually assigned ready reserve, I was. It was all legit, I blame the weak reserve language in the contract.

Yep further evidence scheduling has their heads up their........it's unbelievable how screwed up reserve is at Endeavor. Just wait until they merge LGA / JFK crews. We already know our pathetic union is going to approve this BS. There should be a better reserve working rules

Yes, blunt, but all you do is complain and blame everyone else. Others seem to be complaining, but don't even work here anymore. There are plenty of things to "fix", just as every company (inclusive of majors) has on the agenda, and many of those pieces (Flica, commuter hotels, parking stipend, etc) are being negotiated this week.
"Woe is me" is a broken record and a blatant misrepresentation of the situation at this point in the game. A "bad situation was late 2011-mid 2014". Things have changed. Movement is happening, QOL is improving, and money is now being put into your pocket just for showing up to work. Move on.

You could hold a line in NYC, but you don't want to commute. That's something called "Life". You can blame Bloch, luck, or your own despair. Living IN BASE on reserve is far better, I get it (believe me, I'm a MEM commuter- "live in base, it's awesome...OK... well the base is closed, fun commute begins), but all you do is complain. Pick your poison. Be on reserve in base, or commute to a line. Nobody forces you to show up to work. That's the last option. You can blame everyone, but in 12 years you should have already had numerous opportunities to leave this place. If not via SSP, hiring happened for a good majority of your time here across the industry.
