The company is not putting street captains ahead of eligible FOs bidding for captain when a captain announcement(vacancy) comes outs.
If they did, an FO eligible for captain (that also has their bid in for captain), gets captain pay while their still an FO.
I'd guess the street captain hiring will only last for another 2-3 months and no more than 40-50 street captains will get hired. Street captains get FO pay starting on day one. Their captain pay kicks in when they pass the checkride.

AAG is moving their regionals around and PSA likes outstation bases, BNA and CVG will be large mx bases in the future. That is the first I heard of SDF being a base of any kind.

Doesn't surprise me. It sounds like they're just very backlogged on training, and trying to clear out the training pipe to make the process quicker down the road. What's the point of loading up with new hires if you start to get backed up on IOE by close to 2 months? Here's an opportunity for other regionals to come and snag what they can from the limited pool of applicants.

New hires do not show up to class ready for IOE, they must go through ground school and sims. Therefore December new hires would have completed sims and differences training in February or March so the "backlog" is a couple of months. For someone that has been in this industry a long time you should know that by now (we all know you aren't really a 59 year old gummer captain, no one that old spends that much time trolling threads about a company you don't even work for).
